The DM KOC works just fine with me...bass pedal and all....it's around $100~$120 shipped. It got me through TOCCATA (ADV) and a couple LVL 60+ songs (my skill limit as of right now) so far.

I searched on Craig's List and found someone selling an Alesis DM5 electric drum kit for $300. Does anyone have this? Is it good/bad?

The DM5 is a good module from what I understand - I have an Alesis D4, the model before.

However, I can't vouch for Alesis pads / triggers as I've never used them, other than the fact that I am about to buy a hi-hat pedal from them.

The good thing though is if a pad breaks down, you can just get a Yamaha pad and plug that in until you eventually replace the whole set one by one

Target has the ION set at $230 for its regular price now, if you're that desperate for a drum set.

Are you sure that it's for the whole set and not just the drum brain?

Read the rest of this thread! There is no sense in answering the same question 10 times.
