Marketplace Rating: 1 | Cross hand drumming What do you guys find easier? Cross hand or open hands? I find it easier to do open hands but I can cross hand nicely but not as easily.
I guess it varies song to song and people to people. Songs like Russian roulette would be easier to do open hand and to save stamina you would switch back and forth for songs like misirlou and FSW. One of my female friends doesnt like cross handing on DM because the way the hi hat and snare is positioned, her knockers/love melons are often in the way.

Marketplace Rating: 3 | Some songs, when I know there's a lot of hi-hats coming up (most Naoki/BeFOrU songs comes to mind), I try to cross-hand.
But the space is too screwy for me to do it all the time.
*edit*
Dammit, not signed on my account again, crap.

I don't find the space too small for me to play crosshand.
Maybe because I am small size Asian, that is why I can play crosshand easier.
Also, I notice when I play crosshand, my sticks are over each other, and not my wrists, like how I see many people play. Maybe my method is wrong
I only play open hand when there is alot of very very very fast move of highhat to cymbal, because I am lazy and save energy alot this way.
Songs like Russian Roulette need hand on tom, I just move my left hand under the right hand, it is ok for me. Maybe because I said that I am small =)

Probably because at home when I air-drum to DTXMania I always do it crossed. However, my right hand doesn't even have half the stamnia, so I still end up doing open-hand most of the time~ =x Quote: |

Maybe my method is wrong | Actually, that's probably closer to "correct". It's just that most people can't play stick-over-stick because the hi-hat and snare levels are so close. I tend to hit the snare pretty hard since I'm used to machines that give random misses, so if I did that, my sticks would hit all the time. However, if you have enough control to do stick-over-stick, then that's awesome for you. =)

I find that I am really horrible at open handed hi-hat, as evidenced by my failing Show Business today.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I play the open handed because my left hand can't function properly if my right hand is busy hitting the Hi-Hat. Another reason is because I have a controller that is pretty much at a flat level.

Maybe you can help me see if it is correct? Video. Thank you =)
