Default Is CS GFDM 4/3 compatable with the Yamaha DTXpress or DTXplorer?

I know it's compatible with MPS, MPG, V, V2, and V3, but I haven't seen much written about the older console versions.

I'm 95% certain it's compatible.

The other 5% I need backup on. Help?

That game is compatible, but from what I hear it has problems with the newer versions of the DTX kits. This is the oldest game that works with the DTX kits, so GFDM 2/3 and Drummania will not work.

Only 100% guaranteed to work with DTXplorer.

You take a chance with any other model.

Drum Shop Boy | PS2???????????????????????????

◎ = officially supported

For GFDM4/3 that would be DTXtreme (the first one), DTXpress (the first one), and DD-50 and DD-55 drum pads (which are a waste of money for Drummania)

Also, get a secondhand UX16 (which you'll need to connect the drums to your PS2) rather than a new one, because new ones don't work for some games

Just be wary though, the game runs REALLY choppy on (maybe some?) USB drum kits.

I had ghost misses with a DTXPRESS III and GF3/DM4 CS
same kit works fine in V which is the only other CS mix with strange "ghost" notes

Ghost misses has been a problem with 4/3, with both USB kits and the KOC.

Haha yeah, I thought my kit was defective for a long time since no one else seemed to be having this problem, but turns out that's what it was from the few people that I could find that played (and were decent enough to know what a ghost miss was). Last year I tried a different copy of the game with my friend's USB kit, game ran choppier than Stepmania on a 386 (maybe it was just my game or kit, but anything faster than 4x was impossible to play), plus still gave those misses.

As long as you use the UX-16 MIDI adaptor you will be good. I am also assuming the DTXPREssII has midi out.

It does. I have a dtxpress II.

Lemme rephrase that. I have used a DTXpress II on V, V2,V3, and Gold, and have had no issues. Never tried any of the earlier ones.

Yea drummania and GF3/dm2 CS will only recognize PS2 controllers (no UX-16 driver)
I have tested DTXPRESSIII, DTXPLORER, and DTXPRESSIV modules with UX16 as working in all other mixes.
