Data Clear question

I've just recently got Guitar Freaks V and V2 from a friend. He gave me his file so I didn't have to unlock everything. Does the Data Clear in Records only delete the scores, and not the unlocked songs? Would like to know since his scores are so high its hard to tell when i'm advancing.

Actually, it won't even remove all the scores. It will remove the clear lamps, but the skill percentages will stay.

I would just say delete the save files and do them yourself; the games aren't hard to unlock, and if you REALLY are impatient, you can leave it running overnight a few times with Time Release enabled.

In my experience, only the point and times played numbers are deleted; it doesn't even erase the clear lamps. The skill point total is also unaffected, IIRC.

Use the unlock systems. The only thing you have to worry about with V is the white canceller, and that's really easy to avoid. V2 is superfast; I didn't even play the basic set on both guitar and drums before getting everything (and I wasn't even particularly lucky...something like a .490 win percentage).

Is that it? It's been a while. I remember testing it with a Masterpiece Silver save a while ago, and all I had to see was that the skill % was still there to decide I was just going to unlock it myself.
