I flipped out when I saw 3/2 and 4/3 at a store yesterday for ¥4000 ($35) apiece and grabbed them. I'm a TOTAL noob at DM (been playing V4 for about a month or two), and I can't describe how freaking PLEASED I am with these two games. I picked up MPG the other week but haven't got settled in to play yet, but after playing through all the songs on 3/2 I was happy with what I bought. THEN I put in 4/3 and played a single round, just kinda browsing through the song clips, and flipped out at Star of Muse, You Oughta Know (might not be the actual name, but it's that Alannis Morisette song), among others. Maybe not worth paying $160 together, but I kinda got a steal on those two =\ They're great though!

I feel sad, because I'll never be able to play those earlier versions.

... because I refuse to play without the REV mod

PS - zimny, you a Contra 3 fan too?

I was most pleased with GFDM 4th/3rd, but I'D BE SURE to play that game (DM side) BEFORE playing any of the other DM games because the framerate is lower and can really mess you up if your eyes aren't used to it. I have no idea why, but DM2ndMIX's framerate's better than DM3rdMIX's framerate, but GF4thMIX is pure sex. Anyways, I love playing MARIONETTE on the drums and Right On Time with the guitar! =D

You still have to put in machine codes for Hi-Speed on the older games, infact, GFDM 4th/3rd was the last CS release that had this need.

GuitarFreaks 4thMIX Hi-Speed

-On song select screen, press Red, Blue, Green, Pick, Pick to access Hi-Speed code...you can keep doing this until the desired speed appears.

Drummania 3rdMIX Hi-Speed
-I think all you have to do is tap Bass Pedal twice.

I know how the code works but hispeed is messed up and doesn't go with BPM. As in hi speed 6 is moderately fast for Right On Time but hi speed 6 is like hi speed max for Carnival Days. I think the songs are around the same BPM.

Trip Machina is one of the oldest posters I can remember from DDRFreak and I still want to hear what he has to say about V3. Did you ever get the game Trip?

It seems that the speed of the song is related to the BPM for most songs. Carnival Day and Giant Slug are two exceptions that I can think of off the top of my head. I have no idea why the exceptions exist, though.

Yeah, Guitar Freaks(not so much drummania) had a DDR-like BPM thing going for it back then. When I play SFF(super fast flow was like...x4 or 5) on Classic Part 2 I always mess up because it ends up going to max speed, whereas other songs it's normal x4/5.
