Does anyone know if you can use a ps1 multitap for the drummania games?

I have a "phat" style ps2 & it's nearly impossible to find a multitap for it. I was wondering if you can use a ps1 multitap because there's a shop down the street from where I live that have a few of them(sony brand).

Not as far as I know. Someone told me they tried it and it doesn't work.
