Default DrumMania and (Yamaha's) electronic drums

I am a drummer and I am going to buy and electronic drum set. Then I heard that GuitarGreaks/DrumMania supports Yamaha's electronic drum set (DD-55, DD-50, DTXplorer and DTXpress III) and the back cover of GF/DM V says something about USB-MIDI support: http://i12.tinypic.com/2r614qq.jpg

So, does the GF/DM serie support ALL the drum kits which have USB-MIDI "feature" or just the yamaha ones?

Supposedly other non-Yamaha drum sets work (a number of people use other brands) but these days the DXTPLORER and DTXPRESS III are the only ones that Konami officially guarantees will work. Most people say that pretty much any MIDI drum kit will work as long as you use a Yamaha UX-16 adapter, so make sure you at least get that.

For sure, any Yamaha or DTX kit will work. And more than likely, any other midi set will work provided you use the UX-16 adapter.

Ok, so I'll consider other drum kits as well and remember to buy that adapter. I've had a Roland's V-drum serie in my mind for a long time and I'll propably buy one of those if they support MIDI and are reasonable priced

But how about the older GF/DM mixes (drummania and GF3/DM2), are they supported aswell? Because the DTX serie is mentioned only in the GF4/DM3 and V mixes.

drummania 2ndmix doesnt have UX16 driver inside the software, so it cant read any MIDI signals from any MIDI adapter.
the only way to connect is using PS2 controller port which is impossible to find the converter. Maybe modify PS2 controller will works? i dont know but ive tried a pad and working, unfinished project though..

according to reviews roland V-drum series support MIDI and should works fine with UX16, dont choose another brand for USB-midi interface. Yamaha UX16.

Yeah, only GF4/DM3 and later support USB drum sets.
