Total Tokens: 4,026.94 Donate Tokens | electronic drum kits with drummania ok, After playing alot of rock band, I decided to buy a electronic drumset fro drummania. I dont want to spend alot of money, and I obviously will not be shopping for quality, I just need something that works.
I found ion was the cheapest drumsets. However I am not sure if any are compatible with drummania.
There are 3 I found... Sam's Club - Ion Audio USB Electronic Drum Kit
^The chaepest (REALLY CHEAP), however its a USB kit, which makes me iffy since drummania likes the midi>USB adaptors, so I am not sure if its compatible. Sam's Club - Ion iED01 Electronic Drum Set w/ Accessories
^I am pretty sure someone said this one is compatible. It looks pretty nice except for the pedals, but you can always buy a new one. Ion Audio Drum Rocker Electronic Drum Set and more Electronic Drum Sets at GuitarCenter.com.
^The rock band ones. its for 360, and I have a very strong feeling it will NOT work with drummania (especially since its for 360). A friend of mine did buy this. He is not sure if it had MIDI output, so I cant say it will work. Even then I dont think it will.
Does anyone know if any of these drum sets are compatible, or anyone want to recommend something around the same price range that works? I am thinking about the USB ion, just because its cheap, and even if it does not work, I get a real drumset out of the deal.
thanks.

But for console DrumMania, I'd only be confident with the second. The first, you are right, would almost certainly not work (unless it comes with a midi out, but it doesn't say it does). I've read they are going to do a midi-out adapter for the Rock Band kit, but I don't know anything about it for certain.
Of those three, the second is likely the best choice for console Drummania.

However, newer revisions of the USB adapters may not work with older Drummania games.

edit: I was looking into the first ion drumset, and I found something pretty interesting... wibwobweb.com » Using the ION iED05 USB Drum Kit with MIDI capable software
it says computers recognize it as a game controller. Do you guys think this may end up working with drummania as it seems it is recognized as a controller?

If I buy it online, and it does not work I would probably have to pay extra to ship it back, and they probably wont refund either shipping prices.

no because by that logic:
the KBM controller hooked up to a pc recognizes as a game controller
KBM controller does not work when hooked up to drummania
the GF/DM CS games only have a driver to recognize the Yamaha UX16(and up?) adaptors
only a MIDI set would work

good point. I will go for the second one then.

Thats my 2 cents.

Has anyone had experience using this for dtx mania?
I'd like to have a home set up instead of spending 10 bux a week at the arcade playing dm.
I don't care about ps2 compatibility.

I don't think the kit is as cheap as an Ion one, but I love the thing.
