Is everyone using Konami DM Controller???

Hi, I was wondering if all of DM players were using the Konami (or Topway with stand) controller to play drummania.
Because someone told me you could play with an electronic drum set (on dm on ps2, or dm sim on pc, he didn't told me) Is that true? Thanks

Yes, you can play with an electronic drum set.

There are people here with KOC/Topway DM controllers, but it's not preferred to play with one since:

- dimensions are different from that of the arcade... very different
- sensitivity on the drums is rather low if you don't hit them directly in the center
- they're pretty loud, anyone else in the house/apartment/room will get annoyed - especially if you miss and hit the harder plastic parts of the controller
- they both come with horrible bass pedals, though there are threads around here somewhere about using your own electronic bass pedal with the KOC.

It's still a playable controller though, and it can make a cheap alternative for an electronic drum set if you don't have the money/space for one.

You'll need a MIDI->USB converter,
YAMAHA UX-16 is the suggested one,
ERIDOL type do NOT work.

yes, the game software is contain Yamaha UX series driver, so you cant use any different brand.

but is there a cheap electric drum kit I can buy to play on dm simulator on pc? I dont want to pay a fortune for it since I just bought a KOC DM con

The ION or BAFO kits are fairly cheap, like $200-400 USD.
I'm getting a Legend DD-502 for $700 AUD.
