Extract audio from PAK files?

Forgive me if I am speaking out of turn, but has a process been developed yet to extract the audio from GuitarFreaks/DrumMania PAK files? I know the video PAKs can be played through VLC, but the audio seems to be a format that can't be played.

I think someone at the old GDAmania forum wrote a program to do it. You might want to ask there as the thread doesn't exist anymore.
