Go!Go! 7188 concert in Chicago, 8/8

Dunno how many people are near Chicago, but Go!Go!7188 will be in Chicago performing at The Empty Bottle on August 8.

If you don't know who Go!Go! 7188 is, two of their songs are covered in GFdm, JETONINJIN was in 7/6 and Uki Fune in 10/9.

TIckets are $8 for advance tix, $10 at the door.

Apparently they're doing a tour of the U.S., although I don't know their schedule.

I forgot to mention, they're doing a US tour so they're not only going to Chicago. Check their website for where else they're going to.

I hope someone goes, I really want to hear how it is.

wow, I haven't been online that much lately, didn't find out about this until today. I just bought a ticket now. lol, $8 in advance, but there's a +$2 service fee, so you're really not saving any money.

So, is anyone else going to this? I've only heard one of their songs before today (uki fune) because it's in masterpiece gold, but I searched on youtube and listened to more of their stuff. They're pretty good. I'll see if I can borrow a camera from someone and take a couple pictures.

From what little I've heard of their other music it really isn't too bad. Ukifune is a big hit, so it's almost guaranteed at everyone of their shows. Youtube had some other bootlegs people took at shows(unless they were removed). They did the whole SXSW Japan nite tour early this year too.

late response (ive been in the process of moving, so my comp. hasn't been hooked up for almost a week) but the concert was a lot of fun. They played jet ninjin and ukifune. They also did a cover of cutie honey. The place wasn't really that big, but there were a lot of people there. After the show they hung out to sign autographs, take pictures, talk, etc. I just wish they had more than 2 of their cds for sale, because buying import cds is expensive (they were only $15 each at the show). I couldn't find a camera to borrow, so i didn't get any pics. oh well, maybe next time. But yeah, I had a lot of fun. I hadn't really heard a lot of their music before the concert, but I really like them now. I'd definately go see them again, they said they wanted to come back.

out of curiosity, did they play Aa Seishun? It's the song that sounds really surfrocky (imagine Misirlou)

I've always loved it... though I find the chorus for that song rather discordant ;3
