Default Guitar Freaks ASC problem

OK, so it was fine for a good year or so since I've had this controller. All of a sudden, my ASC is not registering picks. Like when I KNOW I've picked the controller, and I hear it too, it doesn't register in-game and I end up missing the note. WTF? For those who have ASCs or experience in these controllers, I have two questions:

1. Is there anyone who has had the same problem?

2. And is there a way to fix it?

Its fine until you realize that while you're playing a long song, you get 20-30 extra misses because it misses your pick. Or when you've ruined EXCELLENTS on songs with a single miss that is due to a mechanical fault.

1. If the mechanism is much like the actual AC one, then I've always noticed that the pick is much more likely to pick up strokes that are very light rather than ones that push the pick all the way up or down. Fullswinging the pick seems to always drop notes on both guitars on the machine I play on.

2. Not sure if there really is a fix for that, if there is then I haven't heard it.

I'm also having a problem with my asc, it was working fine the last time I used it, but now none of the buttons respond at all, I've opened the front plate and used an ohmmeter to test the connections between the pst plug leads with the multicoloured wires on the inside, and only 3-4 have connections. im not sure exactly how the controller is wired up but if anyone has any more experience with this issue where none of the buttons work at all, please let me know, I'm going to try to hook it up to my computer when I find my usb adapter to see if any of the inputs are responding otherwise I have a $250 guitar shaped piece of plastic

I too have a busted ASC. Mine constantly scrolls left and the buttons and pick are all mixed up. Select and start still work fine though. I guess it's my fault for not sending it back to play-asia, when I first got it the green fret would flicker or not respond at all when firmly held down. But this problem only lasted the first five minutes and it performed flawlessly for a year after, until i came back from a several month break. I dis and reassembled the pick and rotated the buttons but nothing. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I miss my gf.

Open up the front face plate. Disconnect the wires and connections leading to the pick. Use a can of compressed air or blow vigorously on the connections. Reconnect said wires and make sure they are snug and secure. If that doesn't fix it.. you'll have to open up the picking device and clean the optical sensors inside. Goodluck!!

Thanks for the suggestion. I disconnected each wire on the select/start circut board one at a time while the controller was plugged in and found it still scrolled left (sometimes right) until I disconnected the final wire, the one leading to the PS2. So my problem isn't with the buttons or pick, it's the board. Is there any way I can possibly replace it?
