got to play DMv5 at the machida location test
I played only 4 songs because there were too many people quueing...
the new jin senbommatsu song, Dynamis is AWESOME (one of the two extra stages with ichimoodajin)
The new Mutsuhiko Izumi song (electric lady) is really awesome
I have taken videos with my cellphone but quality really sucks, but if yu guys still want to see them i can try to upload them on youtube

Dynamis EXT (there was a label "boss" or "boss song" next to the title. I screwed the full combo vid I had, sorry, I didn't know that much about recording movies with my cellphone. But a dude actually fullcomboed it at his 3rd try. I got myself a 88%B, nut could have easily an A.

Light on GF is when you can pick without any notes on the screen and not be penalized. So does this mean GF light is always on now by default, or is it just gone entirely?

<guilty admission> I for one, only restarted playing the GF series a few years back upon discovering Light  </guilty admission>
DrumMania doesn't have Tight as its default judgement mode, and I personally think that this has greatly increased the series' enjoyment potential over the years...

I mean, it's great to be able to play songs above your skill level, but do you really want to be passing a song with a D?
Light mode is already really close to auto-pick, since accuracy doesn't seem to be as important (why bother? you'll still be alive at the end...). You can literally play 2-3 notes for every 10 you miss and still manage to pass the song with Light mode... surely someone doing the same thing on DM will die before half the song is done, right?
IMO DM's difficulty is just right. If you choose to do auto-whatever... sure, it's a little bit easier to play, but you have fewer notes to mess around with. The 80s patterns, for example, are much more difficult than the 60s patterns, and when you don't have as many "free" notes to help you build meter, you'll find yourself dropping out of those harder songs despite the auto-whatever.
Really not trying to come off as an elitist or anything... in the end it's all about having fun. You can still have a great time on the ADV charts for most songs... Light mode is like using training wheels -- sooner or later you'll want to get rid of it. The transition from Light mode -> normal is almost as difficult as the transition from auto-bass -> normal...
EDIT: DM always seemed more "cool" to me. I mean, you actually look like you're playing the drums! GF is what... 3 buttons and a plastic pick? You can actually see good players doing well in DM, and there are differing techniques, as well as opportunities for freestyling and other assorted games (speed-changing, anyone?)... what can you do in GF? Good as you may be, you're still doing the same thing as some dude who just walked by and decided to put a dollar into the machine :p
That's actually why I started playing -- cos nobody else does (NO LINEUPS \o/)
