See yaz bye. | I dunno.
This is because no one can really say if it has been delayed or has been cancelled or whatever.
Is there even an official Konami response yet (yes or no?)?
Until then, I guess we won't know for sure.
P.S.
Though I can give you a guarantee:
If by the 1st of January 2009, that game is still not in your hands, then you know what that already means.

Though I was thinking more on the lines of:
"2009 has just begun and the game I've been waiting for is still not launched"
Or something like that

I only managed to get MPG LE. got a phone strap cleaner, keychain, ost and a mug. | Actually, the CD that came with it was extremely good, one of the best GFDM CDs released, IMO. The V2 LE was nothing compared to the V3 one.

Marketplace Rating: 2 | While I am a bit worried, I do think the game will come out. I spent all of 2007 waiting for the GF ASC to restock and it was well after V3 when it did, why would Konami still be making controllers for a dead series? Also V3 had V4 previews on it.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | GFDM is by no means dead IMO. Still going very strong in Asia, and Konami has just started to expand to North America. Likely conversion issues, but anything beyond that can't be anything but speculation...
To me, V4 was kinda iffy. V5, on the other hand... I can't wait for HRA in the comfort of my home <3
I wonder when they'll switch their music game platform to the PS3... not sure how much the PS2 saturation has helped their CS sales, but I admit that'd be the only justifiable reason for me to buy a PS3 as it stands now

Which will be a long time.

I get what you mean.
By focusing more on the PS3 gaming function itself (instead of supporting PS2 BC), it would then force more games to come to PS3 (it creates more focus).
But doesn't this also have a counter-affect in that people who want PS3s but need to sell their PS2s first would be held off by this (since they don't produce anymore PS3s that have any PS2 support atm).
P.S.
Regardless to say, given what we're seeing atm, a switch to the PS3 would only happen ONLY after year 2010.
Plus, will Konami make new controllers that support PS3 via USB (or will they make a USB converter for our existing controllers?)

Marketplace Rating: 0 | to my mind it's simple. GF/DM is a very simple interface you can run on a PS *one*, never mind PS3. It won't be any better on the PS3 than the PS2.
So the question is, should we release the game for PS2 or PS3, bearing in mind that it will look and work exactly the same no matter which we pick?
Given that, the only basis on which to make the decision is, which platform has a larger base of active users. And right now, that's PS2 by quite a long way.
(You could also argue that you should restrict the hypothetical survey to *bemani fans* - do bemani fans own more ps3s-without-backward-compatibility, or more ps2s and ps3s-with-backward-compatibility - but the theory is basically the same).

Marketplace Rating: 1 | come to think of it, it SHOULD be released on the ps3, because if bemani continues to make more and more rythem games, just think how much capacity one signle (or dual layer) blu-ray can hold .
Just imagine, ALL the guitar freaks and drum manias on ONE hugeass blu-ray, this includes EVERYTHING (videos and such).
See yaz bye.

Maybe some more licenses, but they'd most likely fill the disc with revivals (though that isn't a bad thing)
If they moved to PS3, they'd most likely make some sort of Best Hits (like you mentioned) and it would probably turn out like the PS2 Pop'n Music best hits because the size of the disc would allow for lots of revivals every other mix, and the problem with Pop'n Best hits was not only it's interface, but the fact that nearly every song on it was revived again later.

For Konami, it's called maximizing profits.
Hehe
P.S.
If they were to make the jump (sometime after year 2010), the most obvious feature to implement would be the downloadable content (sorta like a mini e-amuse of sorts).
Or it could improve loading times (especially for people who have low patience lol)
Yet either way, Konami is not in a hurry to jump to next-gen.
Cause if they were, they could've immediately made the jump to the Wii.
Xbox 360? Nah (considering that its sales are poor in Japan and other Asia).
So it hints that Konami doesn't give a damn for next-gen for this game.
Meaning that they'll only make the jump once PS3 becomes more & more favorable
