Default Guitar Revolution News?

Has there been any news at all aside from the patenting of the name for this?

If this topic about Guitar Freaks US/Revolution is in the wrong place, please move it. Thanks!

Nope, I'm pretty sure there hasn't been.

I thought Gamestop had some screenshots of the game on their site.

Konami trademarked "Drum Revolution" around 3 months after.

uh

Absolutely nothing has even been said about if any game by that name exists or is under development by Konami, much less have SCREENSHOTS been released.

As it is, it appears that Konami is reserving those trademarks but isn't announcing any games under those names yet.

If they ever end up doing this to go to the arcades that can't smuggle in guitar freaks, they better not turn it into bmus...or, if they do westernize the songlist a lot then atleast keep the difficulty up. Obviously GF's learning curve isn't anywhere near as steep as Beatmania's, but still, if they make this game like as easy as Guitar Hero I will be slightly pissed. I think it'll be for the arcade because if they bring out a console game now, they'll look like they are making a "wannabe" Guitar Hero game, and won't be able to break the casual market. Regardless it doesn't concern me as a) I'm Australian and b) They probably haven't even started working on this game yet, so it might not be released for a long period of time.

It's a common typo, no big deal. But in any case, it's just the initial "trademark" announcement and no screenshots that I can see. Or am I missing them?

There used to be screenshots in one of the articles concerning it, but they may have been taken from a pre-existing Guitar Freaks game anyway..

Don't be so skeptical.

And the patent wasn't done for shi+s and giggles.

Even if it does come out, and even if it IS good, that's a big is people, most Americans are so stuck up, stubborn, and backward they will just keep saying that it is copying Guitar Hero and no one will play it.

Of course. A good example of this is, I was at my local arcade this weekend and I was playing Beatmania, and a kid ran up to the GF machine and said "OH dude look its Guitar Hero." 99% of people won't even know what it is, and where it comes from. It's a shame...

same here, except its Guitar freaks (the first game).

This only happened to me once but it was the same thing that happened to you. I was playing Guitar freaks, and 2 kids ran up and are like "WHOA! GUITAR HERO!" then they took the guitar on the left side, and pointed out there is only 3 buttons, no whammy bar, and the scrren looked bad, and is not the same. I told them that this ones better, and left after my play. Then the 2 kids played, they failed a song almost immediatly asn said the game sucked, basicly threw the guitars on the grounds, and started playing DDR.

I cant wait until they release Guitar Revolution, it will be at least "somewhat" original.

I would like Harmonix's rhythm games a whole lot more if they didn't all use that damn low-angle perspective and have no speed mods or other options whatsoever.

FreQuency was good but Amplitude and Guitar Hero just suck trying to read the notes on :/

Yeah, I also share the bad feeling of how Guitar Revolution won't do very well here. I doubt that it will be well received due to "3 buttons only and 10x harder? wtf?" I believed that the only way it would be able to survive is if Konami would be able to override that cheezy MTV patent. Upon reading this thread, the trademarking of Drum Revolution is definitely good news to me. Anyone have a link to that announcement?
