because spam topics like that are considered tokenwhoring.

We've already had enough fun for now.

It might have been just a side project song (maybe even for another game) that Konami never used but decided to keep around and publish on 11/10. It's not uncommon for video game OST's to have unused or unpublished songs included anyway.

The first location test video is in!

€‚‚ƒ‰ƒ€‘GuitarFreaksXG ƒ*‚ƒ†‚ƒˆ€XG€‘€ƒ‹‚ƒ‹‚‹•”(β β) - Blue Planet / Trick Trap

Both seem to be playing the Guitar charts, 1P EXT and 2P BSC. Some notes:
- Open notes were in the EXT chart. That seems to confirm Voiddd's listing of all 5 frets + Open notes for EXT at least.
- The directional wailing matters; there's an arrow in the wailing bonus lane that tells you which way to go.
- So far nothing like HOPOs in GH/RB, so this looks HARD.

Wow, I always kinda thought that Japanese Bemani players wouldn't be able to adapt to this change and this video makes me think I'm right. Before you jump on me with stuff like "They might just be bad players", remember that this video was probably of someone who went specifically to this loc test for this singular reason, and that's generally not something that Joe Badplayer does. Notice that the player doesn't even manage to get accuracy on 3 frets (in the case that he/she was just focusing on three and halfheartedly trying for the others).

For those who aren't used or haven't played GH or RB or any music/rhythm game with five buttons, the transition is indeed gonna take a while.

I'm definitely part of that group though

I've played GH once. First song I've picked was Almost Easy in Medium and that was MUCH easier compared to GF's counterpart in ADV.

If you had played it more than once you'd realize that Medium on GH isn't even comparable to even BAS on GF. Then again, having three difficulties vs. four skews things even without the inherent boost in difficulty you see in AC based games anyway. Remember, the point of AC isn't to get a full game of songs but rather to fail out early. It's not the case with CS original properties like GH.

GF BAS is more or less like RB Hard, GF ADV is RB Expert, GF EXT... well, nothing really touches that well except a small handful of higher echelon songs.

tl;dr = You're comparing apples to oranges.

jinx: it really isn't that simple. you're skewing high for GF. remember that GF/DM contain plenty of low-level songs that advanced players never bother playing any more. given that GF/DM have 'extreme' songs rating from ~20 through to 99, and basic songs rating as high as the 80s (or possibly 90s, I forget with the new songs), and the range in GH/RB is almost as broad (although there's no really hard songs at the 'easy' or 'medium' difficulties), comparing difficulty levels is fairly meaningless. Saying that GF BAS is more or less like RB Hard is fairly absurd - a level 10-20 GF song, of which there are plenty available at basic level, is much easier than almost all GF/RB songs on Hard.

It's better to just compare the distribution of absolute difficulties available; GH/RB games tend to have far fewer really difficult songs available, i.e. their distribution skews towards the easier end of the scale, with only a handful of really challenging songs in each game. That's all you can really say. But there are definitely a few songs in the GH/RB series that are extremely tough (both drum and guitar).
