It's about damn time! While GH players can have a field day with the new controller, Konami desperately needed an upgrade, because there's only so many ways (and usually not good ways) to make charts hard with just three frets.

The new Drum setup looks awesome and menacing at the same time.

Beyond pumped for this. Always wondered if dm would get any sort of hi-hat control or another crash.

Im happy with the double bass upgrade, but not so happy about the hi-hat pedal. Other than that, It looks oh-so-pretty.

So, t7r is somewhat expecting for a Children Of Bodom song since they could have the double bass upgrade!

I just hope Konami will pick licenses with heavy double bass charts, plus rechart the previous licenses (Panasonic Youth, Nemesis, Leaving All Behind) with how they should be played in the first place.

While it's kind of obvious what the CS controller for GF will look like (just take the old model, make it longer & bigger, & add 2 more buttons), I'm really interested how the drums will look for the CS version if 1 gets made.

Which means having to spend over $70 AGAIN to import the CS controller needed to play the game if they make 1...Though I wonder if GH/RB guitars will work, unless it does that thing where it'll keep going to the left.

Another question is; Would they be keeping the old GF/DM alive still? Im sure some people object to the new gameplay features, and would like to keep the old game intact so that they wont have to adapt to the new stuff.

Same here. I'm also hoping that they retain the same song databases and added some modified charts (charts with double bass for MODEL DD4, Ichimoudaijin, FORCE Interval Build, Die Zauberflote, etc.), a la EXT+.

Holy shit. This just made my day.

I've been dreaming of 5-button GF and expanded DM before GH was even announced.. it's about fucking time! D: I'm just worried that none of the arcades around here will even consider spending (what will likely be) an ungodly amount of cash on brand-new cabinets. At the very least, they had better put out some CS installments.

I'm also a little concerned about the likelihood of them actually going and recharting 500+ songs for two games. Seems more likely that we'll get the obligatory new stuff, a majority of songs from recent V's, and the more popular old songs (if that), which should leave plenty of opportunity for eAmuse revivals down the line. On the plus side, I'm optimistic about Long versions finally getting some bass love, and I'm VERY excited to think that some old songs will receive some long-overdue re-charting (Mr. Machine, etc). This is all assuming they don't just kick pre-V stuff to the curb, of course

Can't wait for more info..

Edit: Just noticed that it has an extra cymbal as well. So... double-bass, three toms, two cymbals, and possibly hi-hat pedal? I like that DMXG is basically DTXMania

Edit Edit: Just a thought, but if the ratings do indeed go up to 9.99 or 10.0, and Vampire Killer EXT is a 6.95 from an 82.. they either dumbed down it's chart, or the overall difficulty ceiling just went up quite a bit, extra buttons notwithstanding. Fun!

Interesting...

This seems to be another innovation Konami is making to its Bemani games. DDR recently got a new cab and is getting an 8-panel mode in the upcoming CS, IIDX has added long notes and "back-spin scratch" at the location test for SIRIUS, and now we have this...

Anyways, that machine looks absolutely beautiful.

The vid could have been better if it weren't lying sidewards, but that's how strict test locations could be.
