Wow, so there's 8 different kinds of notes we gotta keep track of now.

Also, what happened to the videos that would play during the songs? Are they behind the notes now??

Can't wait until there's better footage.

I wouldn't be surprised if the songs were in folders (New songs, V5, V4, A, B, etc.), considering they usually do that for every mix.

It's not that different from the past song select screen. It's just horizontal instead of vertical & instead of selecting just the song title, you're selecting the song banner.

I don't know why anyone keeps talking about double bass, the second pedal is clearly positioned as a hi-hat pedal, not a second bass pedal. It's at an angle to the bass pedal and positioned directly under the hi-hat, exactly like A FRICKING HI-HAT PEDAL. It's not a bass pedal.

So the new DM kit is: left crash, hi-hat with pedal, snare, three toms, right crash. Pretty damn close to a real kit, and will be pretty different to play, especially if the hi-hat pedal is charted (can't quite tell from the video, but I assume it is). Craziness.

Now to figure out how we convince the Vancouver arcades to stump up for a machine. I guess we'll have to commit to a few hundred games each at $2 a shot

It could be either, no reason to get mad over it. It will probably be a double bass, who knows.

Because most drummers position their second bass pedal directly next to their hi-hat pedal at that same angle. It's entirely possible (if you ask me, likely) that its purpose will change from song to song. On the double-bass heavy songs, the hi-hat would just stay permanently closed.

Where is Hellhounds on My Trail so I can have my GFDMgasms

...and that clearly isn't a double bass pedal. :|

I'm amazed at the level of drum game-related double bass pedal wishful thinking. It's possibly the only thing uniting the Rock Band and DM worlds.

Double pedals, yes. Double bass pedals, no.
Well, since that other pedal is next to the hi-hat in-game does that mean it's a double bass pedal?

I'd much rather have a hi-hat pedal than a second bass pedal.

These changes are a long time coming. I just hope they keep at least half the songs from the older versions, and maintain a diverse variety.

I'm also thinking that the second pedal will just be a sort of utility pedal that varies from song to song and maybe even from song pattern to song pattern in the same songs much like how the current HH has been covering open, closed, and crash cymbal at times.

Seriously, I can't imagine them using that left pedal for anything BUT both.

jinx: I don't see it that way...after all, the whole point of adding more drums to the kit is surely to remove to need for pads or pedals to be utility-type, and let them actually always map to exactly what they're supposed to be.

And yet we only see 2 pedals here. They've heard cries for double bass and cries for HH pedal before, why would they forsake one group when they could do what they've done so well for so long and just make one utility?

This is assuming, of course, that there isn't already a third that we can't really see. I have a helluva time even seeing the right pedal.

Double Edit: I like how the left pedal is it's own lane. Much better than dealing with it like DTXMania.

In terms of the music select interface, I think it looks like DDR Universe 3.
Is it just me or did this game came out fast?
