I think Konami/Bemani made a DUMB move on this one: Why the fuck could they just stick with XG. Better yet, why could they just SCRAP XG, and make V7 have 5 keys for GF and 9 (is that right?) for DM.

This way, we will ALL get used to the big change.

All I know is, I sense a heavy competition and probably a number of controversy between the two. Because I highly doubt that XG will not crumble.

Man what a pain in the ass, two good GF genres I have to play upon, AGHH.

zarcom: I am interested to hear how Konami will magically make all existing Drummania machines have extra pads and pedals.

The new machine is too expensive for some arcades, that they'll choose to give up on the series.
Having V7 released will allow the less profitable arcades to continue installing new sysytem which significantly reduce the cost.

There are currently probably more than 1000 V6 machines hooked up to E-amuse (this is a very conservative guess).. and 0 XG machines.. Of course it makes sense to make V7 yet at the same time XG could be a successful new business venture. I vote get both! ^^~"

Maybe they're trying to preserve the game name (GuitarFreaks V,V2... so on).

That's just a very wild guess. After all, players have no problem with XG. Maybe the machine just costs way too much.

Oh...alright then . Well, i am glad that V7 will dominate XG then. As they say "you cannot teach an old dog (even though they switched from psx to xp-based boards), new tricks" .

Speaking of GF-related stuff, does anyone know how to recover their password from http://100sec.net??

Thanks in advance.

switching the hardware inside the machine is nowhere near as big a thing as switching the entire cabinet. i think it's something like $1,000 - $2,000 for a hardware upgrade versus like $15,000 for a brand new cabinet.

Back to topic, I registered with the Japanese site of the GuitarFreaks Skill Point Simulator (or whatever its called).

How does the system work? I know that I have to enter in my %, but how does it get calculated??

When IS V7 coming out officially?

Usually $3000-5000 actually for hardware upgrades. Software goes for about $1,500-$3000.

Somehow, I dreamt about an XG machine but with XG and V7 installed...
After inserting a credit, you may choose XG or V7, then proceed to E-A Pass then it's like the normal DM procedure..
Don't know if this dream can come true.. lol..
