Why did this never get any front page coverage? Did the product page just go up like, yesterday?

I was particularly considered when the front page said something like V7 was coming out at the same time as XG and I was like...uh? wut

Anyway I'm still kind of old school honestly and am looking forward to this. Comparing IIDX with XG is sort of convincing me that I need to convert, but I guess I've been playing old drummania so long that I can't really let go of the genre since I haven't really played it to its full extent...you can only go so far on a 9th mix machine with poor pads.

Still, I can understand that a lot of players are butchering the games as of late and XG is great for people who need a new challenge, it certainly adds a whole new degree of difficulty to the game

Pretty much. It was announced shortly after XG was location tested but almost nothing was said about it (not even any location testing was done) until now when the product page came out.

The way Konami's been treating the XG and V7 releases seems to imply that Konami is interested in continuing the XG series as the "main" game for the GF&DM series, at least to me.

Honestly I'm more interested in V7 as far as actually playing the shit out of it. XG is very interesting but I'm not looking forward to relearning how to read drums since they moved the bass pedal onscreen for no reason.

Well, you did read that on XG you can change the pad layout on screen, right? It doesn't change much more than where the pedal layouts are, but there are three different options for it.

Oh really? :O I actually didn't know that. Now you don't mean just the 6 lane mode right? This is for moving the pedals around while still using all the new pads? Badass

XG also has a mode where you only use the classic GFDM buttons.
