I've always played Drummania out of the session series, but I recently started playing Guitar Freaks since I got my ASC. My question is in regards of the controller.
I can't seem to hold the Guitar Controller without getting tired, especialy when it comes the picking portion. The RGB portion seems to be fine for me, but with the hand I pick with always gets really tired(well more like my hands start to hurt), even on basic. This is obviously meaning that I'm not picking right. I also have problems with the ones where I have to pick back to back (I assume you have to do it down, up, down really quick on the picking button, but I can't do it since I can't really grab on to the lever).
Sorry, I'm not really familiar with Guitar terminolog so I probably confused a lot of you out there, but I hope somoene understands. If picture can be provided, that may help me as well.

The generally accepted way to pick 16ths or faster (or everything if that's how you want to play) is to hold onto the strummer and move it using your forearm rather than your wrist.

This is the way I pick, I think its the best way to pick IMO. Hold the pick between your thumb and poiter finger then, push down (or w/e) You can also slap the pick.

I don't have problems reading the notes since I've been playing Bemani series since beatmania 1st mix, so I just need to find a way to not hurt my hands/wrist/w.e. when I play G.F. >.<.
Once again, I really appriciate all the advices and try them all out.
Thanks | |

You'll always have enough endurance to finish a song that way, and you won't get any repetitive stress pains with larger movements. Save the really fast small movement stuff for the maddeningly fast pick portions like in Desert Rose ADV or Agnus Dei.

I would say i play with downpicking about 60% of the time. Just make your right hand into a "thumbs up" shape, and use your thumb to hit down on the pick. I also use only my wrist, because moving my whole arm gets really tiring. For Up/Down (alternate) picking, i play with my thumb resting over the top of the lever and my curled index finger underneath. I don't grasp it, each finger is about one centimeter away, so when i strum up and down (i strum purely by moving my wrist) it makes a tapping noise which makes it really easy to time the notes. Hope that helpes =)

And for double picking...it's a matter of wrist+forearm movement, like how you do it in Drummania for double strokes and stuffs...just less tiring...if possible, break in your GF ASC first, then you can just "vibrate" with the two fingers or something when needed for fast doublepicks...

By tired, it's more of that it starts to hurt (pain) than fatiguness. I can play Drummania on Expert for hours straight without getting tired, unless if I play 90~99 songs constantly in a row, so energy wise isn't a problem =-P
sorry that I confused someone you on that.

The only pain i get while playing now is soreness in my left forearm from songs with lots of changes, like OniHime EXT.

sorry that I confused someone you on that. | Pain...it might mean you're actually "slapping" the pick rather than "touching" it...try to just pull up and down the pick when you're home even without plugging in the game, to "break" the controller first by making the pick slightly looser, so a simple soft push would be enough to register rather than a hard pick...
