Default HDAdvance/Drummania question

I've been using swap magic to boot my PS2 games but I've been thinking of getting a hard drive and HDAdvance. Does anyone else use it? Does it cause any problems when you try to run Drummania off of a hard drive? I hear talks of all these compatibility issues but I really don't care much about games other then Drummania and it's hard to find any info on Drummania/HDAdvance. I don't want to make an investment like this without knowing for sure whether or not it works 100%

Any input would be nice

When you get HDLoader, use the ps2hd list PS2HD.COM - Outta control.. sorta like AIDS, but not as bad

Lists almost every PS2 game and if it works on HDL/HDA/ToxicOS and with what modes. Some of the information is wrong since it's all user provided, but DM does work on HDL.

Don't pay for HDAdvance unless you can't figure out how to/don't want to/can't do the Independence Exploit since the Independence Exploit is free. (You need a PS1 game and another friend who already has a modded PS2)

Well I already have this Ps2 with swap magic, is it possible to do this exploit with that?

And no this isn't piracy as I have the actual games

I have the physical copies of V, V2, Silver, and Gold as well as the HDLoader mod, and they all work wonderfully with HDLoader. There's no lag anywhere and the loading times are cut in half.

The only thing you have to be careful about is to not plug in a DM or GF controller until after you choose the game from the HDLoader menu. Those controllers hold down certain buttons all the time and can mess up the bootup sequence.

Also, HDLoader won't load games to the hard drive that is outside of the PS2's region. You'll have to load the games with the hard drive connected to a computer, either internally or with an external enclosure. I can't get into more detail about this.

One more thing: the mod requires the PS2 network adapter, which is only available on ebay now.

You will need something to move the exploit files from the computer to the PS2 card. Codebreaker and Action Replay can do this with the use of USB thumbdrives.

The independence exploit does work with swap magic.

Also, remember that you need a fitting HD with IDE ports - use PS2 Hard Drive Compatibility Chart to find a list of hard drives that work, since you don't want to spend $70 on a hard drive that neither your PS2 or computer can use.

GameStops usually have network adapters for $15, half of what you'd end up paying on eBay.
