Total Tokens: 534.96 Donate Tokens | Help with Drummania techniques There are some patterns on Drummania that I don't know how to hit correctly.
Here's one that I'm having trouble with...
Snare, Green Tom, Red Tom, Snare, Green Tom, Red Tom... repeat...
What hands would you use to hit each drum in this pattern? It's used alot in Riff Riff Paradise and Cockpit.

If your left hand moves quicker and more accurately than your right, just use the right hand for low tom and the left for the snare and high tom. What I don't really recommend is crossing over your arms each time as you'll quickly get tangled and/or lose speed in the confusion. Just my personal experience, so hope it helps.

Total Tokens: 4,129.65 Donate Tokens | For that one, (what I call the Cockpit pattern), I usually alternate double-stroking between my right and left, so neither gets too tired. So it ends up something like this:
S - L
H - R
L - R
S - L
H - L
L - R
S - L
H - R
L - R
S - L
H - L
L - R
. . . yeah, I know, absurd. ~_~ I really wish I could play it like a full roll (LRLR) all the way through, but haven't even begun to practice that method yet. (Anyone here can do it like that and offer hope to a roll addict like me? XD )

Answering the question, I prefer to LRRLRRLRRLRR though. Especially since Cockpit roll has the bass on the snare, I prefer not to sweep from snare to green tom in case I go out of time for the bass.
Riff Riff Paradise, on the other hand, is "snare, green, red, bass", and repeat. I can either do it "the Cockpit way", or full roll with an xtra cymbal note to correspond with the bass. (and the roll would always repeat with the same hand on the same pad, so u wun get mixed up)

Anyway, regarding this question, my method would be to:
a)
Sn - L
Gr - R
Rd - R
Sn - L
Gr - R
Rd - R
(*repeat a) or b)*)
And when it hits the cymbal, it would be like:
b)
Sn - L
Gr - R
Rd - R
Cy - R
Gr - L
Rd - R
(*repeat a)*)
That's my take on it I guess...

Sn - L
Gr - R
Rd - L
Cy - R
Gr - L

Cuz I dun really think many people are able to sweep all the way from green to cymbal, and still keep in time. =)

Total Tokens: 838,296.80 Donate Tokens | My take on it is to "keep the pattern going", rather than consider the ability to "sweep". I don't find it logical to break the pattern, and there's a higher possibility of sticks hitting each other when using your method instead, which will cause the sticks to dislodge from your hands, and hence fail the stage, rather than get a bad score.
And on a personal note, I don't sweep; I stroke each and every single pad when I'm doing that pattern.

I've been practicing LRR today, but I can't seem to pull it off fast enough. I guess I just need to work on speed. I'm also going to try adding rolls for the cymbal sections like oni-ice suggested.
I might try full rolling, but it seems so awkward for this pattern.
