Help with options

Ok I realize that you can change the speed/difficulty you want during the song selection part with both GF and DM. Now my question is I see some people getting the option where it shows the list alphabetically and version wise, so you can select songs easier based on the first word of the song or from whichever version you feel like playing.

How do you choose that option in GF and in DM? I tried just about everything and I can't manage to enable it. I tried looking for a similar question like this but no one has made a thread since most of you guys know how to in the first place.

I'm only asking now because V4's songlist is WAY too long and only 1 minute to choose scrolling in default is not how I want it to be.

In GF: hold G and turn effector knob. If your guitar's effector knob is broken... gg

In DM: I believe it's hold BASS and hit green (dun remember colour... the one right of snare XD)

Ok but for home versions how would you do that with a Konami GF controller since there's no effector knob? I don't have the ASC since they stopped making them.

To clarify, the ASC doesn't have an Effector Knob. It just has Start and Select as knob-shaped buttons.

The bass pedal doesn't need to be held down. It's just Bass, High Tom, High Tom. Repeat it for different sorts.

louie: dat only works for pre-v4 versions. its now hold bass + green in v4.

oni: it was hold bass + green tom once in V3 as well. the last mix where it was press bass + green tom twice was V2.
