Thank you.

I think I'm going to stop messing around with it and leave it like that.
I took off all of the packing tape, wrapped the wire around each other tightly and enclosed them with electrical tape, and cut off some of the walls of the box to make it slope down in an angle.

edit:
Nevermind. Electrical tape isn't staying put anywhere. :/ Looks like I'll have to find another way to connect them.

I experimented with the soldering iron and tried to desolder those damn wires. Well, I did that, and I think I burnt out the contacts underneath all of them as well.

But it's not all lost for me yet. I found out that there are alternate places to grab input for all 5 drumheads.

Here is where I found the alternate input spots. All of them are highlighted in a battery shape. All of them have solder on top, but some exposed contacts barely show.

It's pretty funny how the controller freaks out if you short the contacts with a wire. Hearing some of the drumheads trigger at 100 times a seconds is hilarious.

I have no idea with that circle with + and - does. Shorting them doesn't seem to do anything yet.

There are other places that trigger the drumheads in the game if you short them. I was fooling around with it and dragging exposed wires all over it and random drumheads were hit in the game.

Now I need to desolder those points without burning out the contacts, try to put on new wire on those, and try not inhale so much solder vapor.

update:
The mystery circle triggers all of the inputs at once when shorted. That might be handy for something.
I can't get anything out of those battery things again. I think I completely trashed it. :/
