Default How to hold the guitar?

So, I've recently came across a small problem of when I focus to hard the guitar actually starts to slip out of my left hand when I'm focusing to hard.

I usually wrap my thum around the underside and use my 3 fingers for the buttons to push against it so it could hold it firm. It only holds if it's not anything like the least 100 seconds or so.

Have I been holding it wrong? Or are there different ways people do it?

I hold the guitar at a height where the wrist is approximately at the same level as my elbow. And the web between the thumb and the index is wrapping around the underside of the guitar.

Some prefer to sling it low like some guitarists, or hold the guitar almost perpendicular to the floor like the bassist in Liquid Tension Experiment did from a video I've seen in Youtube.

Nothing's wrong with your holding technique. It's simply up to personal comfort.

Actually, the way you're holding it is very odd for a guitar. Maybe it works for you, but it's most likely more easier to hold it like a guitarist holds a guitar, with your three fingers coming from the under side and having the underside resting on your hands. Look at guitarist pictures to see what I mean.

I suppose it'd also depend on what type of guitar you're playing, if you're in the arcade or using the ASC it'll be different from if you're using the little plastic magic guitars (the flimsy ones) I don't have a home system, but I've seen and used at a friend's. but at the arcade for faster reactions or heavier requirement songs, I have the thumb pressing against the back of the neck, the neck resting on the edge of my hand at the base ofmy pinky. giving the fingers a bigger arch over the buttons so it's able to press down better.
for a more comfortable hold I have the neck resting in my palm, thumb wrapping around the back and top, more relaxed feel, but reaction can be a bit slower from time to time

for the thin necked guitar, I have thumb go over the top of the neck and sometimes I tuck in my middle finger and use my ring finger for blue instead, which you can do on the ASC, but it's pretty hard to do so if you have no finger independence.
