Question I have a question

Is cross hand the proper way to a real drum set? or open hand? or both?

when I see people play cross hands i wonder why they did it. For me open hand is the only way. I hit stick when i cross hands.

so what are the adventage for cross hand??

Autobass is always good for hard songs if you don't know them

I think the cross-handed style is mainly for right handed players. It's probably easier to cross when you have fast hi-hat passages, so they use their dominant hand.

As for me, well I suck at crossing even though i'm right-handed.

Crosshand is mainly used.

On DM, people didnt like to use crosshand cuz they hit the sticks. (since the hihat is so low) However, some people managed to get past that barrier and do well with crosshand.

Atreyul is correct. "I think the cross-handed style is mainly for right handed players. It's probably easier to cross when you have fast hi-hat passages, so they use their dominant hand."

But most drummers actually are able to do the hihat passages with either hand. Since they trained BOTH hands.

As for me, i'm right handed. and I try to crosshand as much as I can. My only problem: coordination with bass. Bass always seem to go out of time for me, especially with double basses like Konokono and Fairy Tales. So like.... nvm.

Megamanny: you're not answering the question...

I'm right handed as well but like oni-ice said the hi-hat on drummania is low so its pretty hard to cross hand on most machines. Some drummers I've seen play open handed though. Its rare but sometimes it happens. Its even wierder for left handed drummers and the whole reversed drumsets. Those wierd me out.

I will choose these songs for a cross hand play beginer

1.ありがとね。 (advance)

2.Luvly, Merry-Go-Round (advance)

3.悲しみは雪のように (extream)

4.innocent world (extream auto bass)

5.天体観測 (extream auto bass)

These songs are very good to practise , if you play more harder , you can do it

Remember

Your right hand hit the hihat is like cuts vegetables XDDDD
(I always say that for a beginer player)

Left hand relax , not hit the snare , just put down it

and someday you won't play tired for funky sonic world XDDDD

Tsuminagara extreme is another good one to cross hand.

...although it's too fast.

Also, all Ai Suzuki songs.

...but they're too fast too.

Well, those... if you want to practice the fast ones.

You are a Filipino if you think Sis Bond Chit is a licensed group. Sadly, that doesn't apply for me, even though I'm a Filipino.

I *rarely^ play drums, but for me, back on like 10th mix, Honjitsu wa Seiten Nari was always fun cross handed, and not too difficult either. Nocturne No. 9 is good too.

It all comes down to preference. Ive seen good DM players do cross hand and open hand, although most of them are cross hand. I can do both just as easily but some songs like rockin paradise, Funky sonic world and Herring roe I have to cross hand because I am right handed and I can hit the hi hat faster and for a longer period of time compared to my left hand.
