Total Tokens: 922.39 Donate Tokens | I want to replace my GF ASC buttons with easy to press keys I was playing GF at the arcade one day and the buttons felt as light as Sanwa fighting stick buttons, it was amazing and I played so much better.
Does anyone know where I can get GF buttons with less actuating force?
I feel like these buttons are going to be stiff forever. And it is stopping me from being able to pass harder songs like model FT2mv.
Thanks for any help on this!

Just one more question: Does the ASC have quick disconnects or are the buttons soldered?

I ended up replacing them because they started to get stuck after several months of near nonstop play, and no amount of cleaning seemed to help that. In that time, they never loosened up. The new Sanwas have been fine for a little while now, and were looser straight out of the box/bag. They only cost a couple dollars a piece, anyway. Quote: |

You just unscrew the 5 hex screws along the neck, and you can lift up the plate that houses the buttons. You'll probably have to bend the prongs of the new buttons to about a 45 degree angle to get them to fit (like the buttons that are in there now).

Brazoliange: I've been using my ASC for 14 months and the buttons have only broken in a tiny bit. They're still quite stiff. And thats 14 months of heavy use, I'm sure I've used the controller for easily 300 hours now.

They are the exact same model as what I bought to replace it. But for some reason the ones Konami used for the GF ASC are more resistant than the ones I bought from akihabarashop.

Simply unscrew the neck (you need a couple of allen keys for this, also called hex wrenches in the usa i think). Then, pop out the buttons, and remove the springs from them. All the arcades I play at have the springs removed and are really soft. I did this with my ASC and the buttons play like a dream, just like the arcade. They are feathers to push down now. Just thought i'd let you guys know.

So I think I want to do the Checky method. Will this reduce the life of my buttons?
I am excited and worried at the same time!

To take out the springs in those buttons, you first take the button out, then you can unclip the actual button from the frame. Then you just remove the spring, and there you go. I personally don't like "remove the spring" mods, but if you won't have access to better buttons any time soon it's your call.

Total Tokens: 922.39 Donate Tokens | alright, so i popped out the springs and what a difference.
Although I think that the ones at my arcade still had springs, just that they were super light springs, the same ones in sanwa fighting stick buttons likely.
I'll probly order some replacement sanwas while I use these without springs.
Thanks for the help everyone!
P.S. Is there a mod for the pick lever too? Wouldn't mind having a feather light pick too!

I don't want to fuck with it though, cause i might never be able to fix it. Does it snap back to the middle via springs? Maybe those could be removed! XD

I will definitely be grabbing some new sanwa switches. I like the smoothness of the springs, but without all that stiffness.
As for the pick, there's gotta be a way to buy an arcade pick and just install it...

However, just make sure you DO replace it, because as opposed to the switches there's no physical parts pushing back to make it spring back to center. :x
