Default Ion iED01 Questions

Hi, I'm sure all of you are overwhelmed by the redundancies of help-me-with-electronic-drumset threads. But here's yet another one:

So I got a Ion iED01 kit along with the Yamaha UX16 adapter.
And then I tried playing Masterpiece Gold but I'm puzzled by what happens...

In the mode where it shows the number of players and devices connected,
the USB drumset icon turns on yellow but when I proceed to the actual songs, nothing triggers except for the DualShock controller.

I'm wondering:

1) Is there any configuration I'm supposed to do prior to playing?

2) Should the drum machine be on or off when the PS2 is on?

3) Could it be a problem of faulty drivers [my copy of Masterpiece Gold is a pirated burned DVD (shame on me)]?

4) Do non-Yamaha drumsets like the Ion only work for DTXmania on the computer but not for Drummania on the PS2?

5) Do V and V2 support USB drumsets?

I've gone through all 14 pages of topics before posting but couldn't really find any answers. If the problem really does lie within my pirated version, then I'm willing to shell out money for a legitimate copy like a law-abiding and morally concerned citizen but I'd like some confirmation first.

Sorry for all the questions but I'd truly appreciate some answers.

Thanks!

EDIT: I just realized that this forum doesn't take piracy lightly so my sincere apologies about that.
Remove this thread if need be.

Thanks for replying although I resolved the problem on my own.

It turns out I had to set most of the options in the Midi Setup of the drum machine to on and everything thereafter worked smoothly.

5. USB drumsets work from the PS2? Are you sure? I heard somewhere that they don't.

sometimes the midi inputs for in and out on the module are opposite of what you have to plug in the ux-16 to. Trying switching it.

I guess I misread. I was talking about midi drumsets with the midi->USB Yamaha adaptor. ><

I had the MIDI In on the UX-16 plugged into the MIDI Out on the machine which is right according to the manual but afterwards, I still had to go to MIDI Setup to fix it.

Everything works fine now. Thanks for all the replies.
