Default Just ordered V2 for 26 bucks. . .

It's my first GF/DM CS game ever and kinda bought it at an impulse lol! Obviously I don't have a guitar or drum controller but I thought I should get atleast one game in the series and I may form an addiction from there. Can you play this game using a IIDX controller? I figure I can turn this to a faux IIDX experience. I have played 8th&9th Mix at the arcades enough to the point I can pass pathetic 15s on DM. So yeah for someone who has no proper controller (I love playing DDR on the dual shock btw) can you have a pretty fun experience with GF/DM with a regular dual shock or a IIDX controller? Thanks.

It's very possible to simulate IIDX on Drummania, I've done it and enjoyed myself far too much. I haven't tried on guitarfreaks, but can't really see how it would be doable. Guess it's worth a shot though.

you can still play GF quite decently on a Dual Shock...

DM would take a bit of familiarisation....

as always, practice makes perfect.

GF on a dualshock is a little cumbersome but it's definitely doable

more like hand cramp-able
I used to do this before I got a GF controller

anything with hyper picking is damn near impossible

Yea it can be fun on dual shock. I have Masterpiece Gold and I play GF on dual shock but the only aggravating thing is you not only have to hit the buttons for the R, G, B (L2, L1, Right) but you also have to hit the button for the strumming (O, X, or Right analog Up and down).

Currently i play DM on dual shock, until my KOC comes in the mail (i'm so ready for it)

If I'm ever screwing around on a Dualshock with GF, I use Config C. Or I manually set it to a Config C like configuration if it's a game with a total reconfig option (R - > Circle, G -> X or Triangle, B -> Square, P - > Left Analog, Wail -> L1 and L2). It works more like GF that way, and you don't have to press a button to pick.

I chose the method which you hold the DS controller like a guitar there circle, X and Square re RGB and right analog or D-PAD is pick

in that setup hyperpicking is almost impossible
at least for me

UPDATE: I bought a used wired guitar controller designed for a domestically released game series and did the soldering mod, the thing works pretty good for a cheap alternative. I'm liking GuitarFreaks now. Anyways, are there any benefits for leaving Gitadochanko on?

Yes. Songs will be unlocked at a much faster rate if you are good at catching the right signs. After everything is unlocked, you can turn it off.
