Making a guitar freaks controller...

I see by reading all the posts around here everyone wants someone to build a guitar freaks controller. I've read so far the hardest part will be the pick. The pick will have to be able to pick up and down, right. Does it matter what model or shape the guitar is? To me this looks like an easy project to do if I can get the pick to work right. I was going to do a custom guitar hero guitar, but I mite put that a side to work on this. What do you guys think, sould I try it?

The reason why I think it can be done is that everyone says it cant be done. Those are words that I like to hear and thats what makes want to do it even more. What I do in my spare time is to build custom portables. Portables that I've done so far are : Dreamcast, psone, nintendo 8-bit, Jaguar, Xbox, and Im working on Gamecube, Neo-Geo, N64. I was once told that the dreamcast and the xbox couldn't be made into portables, and here we are. As you can see by my site, I have the skills to pull this off. What Im looking for is what the controller look like. Like shape, model, color, ect.. Let me know...

Here is what I did, go to an arcade, find a guitar freaks controller, get some poster paper, from there just trace out the paper.

The controller has three buttons, I bought some sanwa buttons, however, since I bought the plastic konami controller (KOC) I used those buttons.

I am still working on the controller, im not guaranteeing that this will work for me, but im sure it will work great for you. So far I built mine out of wood and I used some parts from the konami controller.

I had pics but I deleted them out of madness lol.

This is Guitarfreaks. With only three buttons one might be tempted to claim that it's an "easier" version of Guitar Hero, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Guitarfreaks is much more of a game and much less of a simulator when compared to Guitar Hero, and the focus is on combining speed, accuracy, and very quick fingerwork. Since you don't have to move your hand up and down the fretboard like in Guitar Hero, the game expects much more out of your hand as it remains in one place, and just a few mistakes can bring you from a full lifebar to the crashing doors of the game over screen.

Also unlike Guitar Hero, you can only press the frets it tells you to, extra picking results in two missed notes (one for playing the wrong frets, another for hitting an extra), and every single note must be picked. No hammer ons and pull offs here.

Random and Super Random, where every fret is different from its original placement in the notechart, find themselves much more at home in Guitarfreaks than they would in Guitar Hero, since the focus is more on quickly reacting to the notestream than it is on having the notes replicate the feeling of playing the song itself.

THIS is Guitarfreaks. Don't say it's better or worse than Guitar Hero or you'll be hideously wrong. It's a different kind of music game entirely.

Guitar Hero sucks, its a fucking knock-off OF Guitar Freaks and it pisses me off that stupid fucking Roxor makes GH controllers instead of GF, fucking bullshit if you ask me.

Now, us long-awaited GF players have to wait endless days/weeks/years for Konami to get off thier asses and produce GF controllers for us.

Id say we all rally up and form a petition saying they should start doing that.....YEAH .

Your only adding more fuel to the fire. How bout just ignoring them and let them think guitar freaks sucks so there will still be shorter line ups at the arcade.
