Total Tokens: 100.83 Donate Tokens | Modded GF ASC on DTXMania... being stupid? Yo-
So I recently modded the keys and pick for my friend's ASC. The usual pick mod, cut down springs so its a tiny bit looser.
I'm playing off DTXMania on my comp, running through a SmartJoy USB adapter. I can do up to 80's in the arcade and want to try some serious stuff. The controller responds, but feels... off. I don't know how to explain it.
The pick is loose, but it doesn't feel as 'sensitive' as the arcade, if you know what I mean. It's like I need to push it a bit farther to register. Like, if I hyperpluck segments of a song I can't combo it at all.
What I did notice is on my inputs, for the pick, the smartjoy is only assigns one button to the pick, same for up and down. But I've heard that on the later PS2 GF's, the pick is assigned to up and down. Could this be the issue?
I'm guessing it's my USB adapter. But I really don't know at this point. Any help appreciated.

Did you have better luck on PS2 with an ASC?

If not, then start doing finger push-ups per day , 100 to start off with, then work your way up to 200 .

The converter I use is a tiny bit off which sucks for hyperpicking and really anything above 60. =/

But when you get up above level 70, the pick just doesn't seem to respond to rapid picking at all. And forget about anything 90+.. it's a complete waste of time in my opinion.

I've played over there on my ASC and it's been decent. If I do hyperpicking neatly (As opposed to grabbing the pick and slamming it back and forth as hard as you can), then there's almost no problem.

There comes a point where passing it, getting an A, or even an S or SS doesn't count anymore. When all you want is an excellent, then decent doesn't cut it. Sorry to sound like a huge asshole about it, but if I want an excellent and a controller gives me 5~10 random misses on hyperpicks I absolutely know i'm picking correctly, then in my opinion it's less than decent. Sorry again for being rash.

Sorry again for being rash. | After you explained that you want to excellent songs, you really don't sound too rash/rude IMO. I get C to B's on 80+ songs, so it doesn't really bother me if only a few notes are off. Also, semirelated, is there a way to mod it so it's near perfect? I removed 2 springs rather than replacing all of them and it's decent as I said. =/
