offical ? asc thread

ok there are asc threads for almost all the other catagories so i decided to make one in here. i hope enough people are intrested in this topic to keep it alive. im thinking of making an asc , using a ps2 controller pcb and some other stuff. i can't buy a yamaha and mod it because im broke and with all the recorces i have in the family i can make this for almost free . but i would really like some designs so if you have some they would be a huge help . thanx

btw ; this includes guitar controllers if anyone wants to try to make those thoghe im gong to stick to the drum controller for now

If you are talking DM then the homebuilt ASC thing has been done. There were a couple guides in the gf/dm sim forums but the one that looked a little more promising was taken down. Afaik, the best choices you have if you can't drop the cash for a DTX series kit is either the KOC or any other midi compatible kit.

If you do build your own ASC though and it turns out well I'm sure a lot of people (myself included) would love to see a guide/vids/etc.

Quick question.

Before ordering a Yamaha UX-16 online, I found this
one at Guitar Center.

Does anyone know if this can work or does it have to be the UX-16?

It has to be the UX-16, as far as I know. The drivers on the GF/DM home versions are written specifically for Yamaha adapters, I believe.

Thanks for the heads up!

I didn't want to have to order the UX-16 online (I'm impatient).

Luckily I found 1 in stock at Sam Ash. I also just bought the ION kit from Target and finished hooking it up. I can't wait to try it out tomorrow.
