open/close hi-hat problem

when i use my usb drum kit to play dtxmania, i can only adjust my hi-hat to either open or close hi-hat...is there anyway you could adjust the program so you play open hi-hat notes by just hitting the hi-hat (with hi-hat pedal released) and play closed hi-hat notes by hitting the hi-hat (with hi-hat pedal stepped on)?

when u go to set the keys press the pedal for open the hit the pad shud read a diffrent value and same for closed

the problem is that when you set it like this the closed hi hat is hit when u step on the pedal(without hitting the actual hi hat), if u hold on the pedal and hit the hi hat it counts as open hi hat instead of closed hi-hat, any solutions?

What you could do is go into the drum key config in DTXMania and swap out the commands. There should be a bunch of assigned keys, so if you want to find it it's just trial and error. =/
Now, if you didn't want to use the hihat pedal at all, what you could do is just make it so the hihat works for both open and closed regardless of pedal by doing:
Under configuration--->System:
HHGroup: HH3
Ride/Crash Cymbal: CYGroup: CY1
Floortom when you hit red: FTGroup: FT1
^ Cymbal and floortom as well if you don't want to bother with those

but the problem is i want the closed hi-hat to be struck when i hit the hi-hat while im stepping on the pedal...but from what i've experienced holding onto the pedal does not change anything... only the instant u step on it causes a change... any solutions?
