Play KeyboardMania YAMAHA Edition with other Keyboard

I've recenlty bought a M-Audio Oxygen 61 MIDI Controller Keyboard. So I downloaded this Keyboardmania YAMAHA Edition from a torrent because i saw it in youtube and it was the best one i saw. The problem is that the game doesnt seem to recognize the keyboard. The game is designed for the YAMAHA keyoboard that comes with this game, but is there any way that I can play with the M-Audio Keyboard??

I'm not sure but I only think that the game only works with a Yamaha EZ-250i keyboard (I think)........

Anyways, just check with your local YAMAHA music store about it.

Sharing isnt piracy. Im just asking because i've read that some people made it work with another keyboard.

Uhh yeah, that's piracy.

I think there may be a patch you can get that will allow you to use it with any USB keyboard (not just Yamaha keyboards) but considering that when you legally buy the game it comes with a Yamaha keyboard, you clearly don't need that patch.

It's more that they do not want to get an infraction such as the one you are about to receive.

I'll give general advice here, nothing related to any patch or crack...

I would say to double check and make sure that your computer is able to see your keyboard and that you have the cables hooked up properly - midi in -> midi out and midi out ->midi in from your keyboard.

Another thing to try after hooking up your keyboard to the computer and turning it on, is go into Control Panel->Sounds and Audio Devices and then go to the Audio tab. Make sure your keyboard is selected for the bottom item Midi Playback Device. Also check the check box for Use Only Default Devices, and then give it a try.

None of that matters unless he has a Yamaha keyboard, the game is programmed to give an error if it doesn't detect a Yamaha keyboard as your default MIDI device.

its not sharing unless you own it in the first place. Considering you dont own a yamaha keyboard, and the game, then its stealing.

Just like pump it up USB Drives, there is something on the keyboard that will let the game know there is a Yamaha keyboard plugged in, to ensure that you can only play it with that keyboard.
