Question about GF4/DM3 CS

I just got this game recently and finally got around to playing it. I've notice that on the main menu screen there appears to be an option under "Memory Card (PS2)" and it's in all Japanese text. It's grayed out though so I don't know what it is

My question is, what is this and more importantly what do I have to do in order to select it

The last mode is for a hard disc drive. If you happen to have a hard disc
drive one can install gitadora information onto the hdd. There are faster
loading times, and it is supposed to help with Endless mode. Anything else
is unknown to me.

I'm using HDloader to play this, so the game won't recognize that I have a HDD lol. Can anyone else confirm this for me? Also if this is what it's used for, how much does it improve the load times and what not?

as far as i remember all it did was cut out loading times on endless mode
the arcade/free mode still had the same load times

Yeah Konami used the HDD on a very few Bemani games, all they really used it for was to cut load times...but it was so minimal anyway, it was useless. There really is no other function for the HDD.
