orz | My perfect isnt wonderful. Always 88-92%P for lvl 60s-70s full combos. Higher level-ed full combos have some 82-85%P... =x
Cuz I'm combo-focus.
*Borat accent* Hi-five!
EDIT: my wackiest FC was Sunday Driver... 77%P FC HZD... Grade A. wheeeee. XD

I'm sure that works too (I remember that's what checkrox did). | One time I took a year off. I February I got burnt out because I was just playing way too much.. but I was still very much addicted. So I took like two weeks off. I wasn't thinking , or saying to myself "I've gotta stop, I'm gonna take x amount of time off", I just really didn't feel like playing. But then.. the feeling came back =] So no, I didn't play daily sometimes... But the time when I did improve the most.. I was putting in 30 bucks a day at the game center.

it can be...
- spam-play one song or a handful of them until i understood it.
- a case of "i woke up one day and i juz bingo-ed it"
- see the drum/guitar chart at home and slowly analyse it. (i dun have to play)
----------------------
as for me, there was a time when i was totally stuck and demoralised cuz i felt i couldnt improve. my perf and combo never seemed to increase at all. At that time, i tink i took about 3 months break.
When I Come Back (XD) just to destress from my exams, i was surprised that my eyesight was much better cuz I didnt always see falling notes 10hours a day 6 days a week. Even though I was not aiming at all since I was destressing, my combo improved drastically, and obviously my perfects dropped.
When I realised that my combo is going crazy, I started to aim and my perfects came back to the old form I had in the past (even though it wasnt really a lot - 88% FCs?).
Unfortunately, I injured my left wrist in a skating incident, thus it wasnt really so dexterous as before. Stamina sucks as well. Thus, perfects dropped... again... by about 4%. No improvements yet, but sometimes miraculous combos appear once in a while... And obviously, my GF is SEVERELY affected. I needed to bend the wrist instead of the fingers juz to change the frets cuz my fingers juz refuse to bend... >_<
Well, datz wad happen now in my DMGF career ever since the new year...

I have had those "level up" moments too where something that was impossible to read or play just kinda makes sense. The weird part it, I think they seem to happen after I haven't played for 3-6 days, and I am on my 1st or 2nd day back. Me and Deca discussed this and our conclusion was when you're playing a lot, you're just drilling a pattern, and if that pattern's wrong, you just continue doing that. When you return after a few days, you've forgot that style of play you were using, but you've learned it from doing it so much, so things become simpler.
Or it probably really doesn't matter. TaraTara SRA - 2 seconds away from Clear | |

And about the sudden levelling up issue...I guess it's when your mind has had enough time to rest from grinding on the game that you suddenly improve. That's my only theory to how one can suddenly level up after resting for a while, after grinding alot on the game. And yeah, I'm taking time-offs now and then...probably to prepare for my "retirement"

If you tell me you play purely by sound, I'll be so happy~
I can't say I've analyzed a notechart simply because I know exactly what to play and when... just that I lack the precision necessary to raise SPs XD
That, and I can't hyperpick worth shit due to lack of endurance.. haiz
Re: Bobby...
I have a PS2, and shitloads of RPGs. That, and I'm also a hueg NANA (I die a little inside each time I play Glamorous Sky <3) and anime/manga fan, so I literally don't have enough time to grind GF 24/7. Since I always play on RAN (hell, I turn it OFF for something different...) pattern recognition only goes so far as knowing how fast to pick, and the type of switching pattern (ie: Timepiece EXT OPN's open-3x single section). Aside from that, I work a little bit like Adam -- I'll stumble upon improvements to my play as a fluke of luck... or maybe I "level up," who knows...

1100SP on GFDMMS now, I never knew I could even break 1000... xD
next stop -- GFDMV. That's going to take a fucking long time...

GF FT2 Miracle - Open Excellent. Metal Queen - Open 1 great. Stupid open version having one section with an uneven number of notes. Classic Party Fukkatsu - 3 Greats. Not one great in the fast part so maybe I could aim for an excellent sometime.
DM Joker - 10 Greats. I hate the songs notes so I was quite happy with this. Metal Queen - Hazard 3 Greats. JJ Road - Hazard 4 Greats, 1 Good. Very lame good. Sobakasu - Hazard 2 Greats. Damn this is hard to Excellent.

Skill points 703 - wheeee. | You're clearing those songs, yet only have 703SP?
You should try to S/SS songs in the 45-65 range. Much SP potential is there. Don't be surprised if you can gain more points from that than barely clearing songs in the 80s and 90s.

The more you play in a short amount of time, the more you wear out your muscles and in some ways, your mind. After resting for a bit of time, the muscles repair themselves to be a bit faster/stronger, and your mind will somehow understand more of whatever you were practicing.
I used to play DDR every day that I could find spare time and only slowly got better. I stopped playing for a few days, then played it again. Most of the crap I couldn't clear or get a higher score on, I cleared and got higher scores.
Same thing happened for me on IIDX. I used to only play it once a week because I never ever got better playing it two or three times in a row. After one week off of it, I had a chain of first-time accomplishments going for me. After another week, another bunch of first-time accomplishments.
Too bad this doesn't work once I reached the 7-star songs.
----------
I am 5-8 measures away from clearing over there OPEN EXT. I have the hyper-pick sections down with the guitar KOC, but I still can't get that chain of notes down after it without losing.
Other than that I haven't played GF that much in the past few weeks.
Not really an accomplishment, but I finally got to hook up the PS2 to a new TV with component inputs. 0_0 Holy crap, the picture quality difference between it and composite is night and day. I can acually read the red numbers on V. | |

My first goal with the game is to be able to at least be able to play all the songs you guys are getting A and S/SS scores on. I think if I can put a dollar in the machine and not have to worry about losing it, then the rest (SP, accuracy, talent, etc.) will just come on its own ('cuz I can just play worry-free).
Anyways, I'm getting all so I'll shut it. But it is an honor to know I could get more SP points.
