Can anyone tell me the cheapest place i can get a official controller or a beginner friendly controller and suggest the easiest mix/style (dont know how it works for drummania) ?just to make sure, the menus in the game are mostly in english right ? (like in iidx ?) and which version has tierra buena (love that song!) thanks everyone !

The only downside is that it's not at all arcadelike. If you get one from ebay or an online store, make sure to ask if the controller comes with a stand. The old DM KOCs did come with a stand, and they are the only way to make the controller reasonable to use short of building your own. Tierra Buena is on V3 CS, which I would recommend to a new player. If you get more than one mix, make sure to pick up Masterpiece Gold or Silver as well since they have awesome songlists. The menus are mostly in English.

The other was the controller and game though, and all i need was the controller
I'm still a beginner, and I've started on Masterpiece Gold. I enjoy it, though I would probably follow the advice of others as far as which mix to start with
The only problem I've found with the DM KOC is that i find myself missing the pads every once in a while, and hitting the red plastic part, but i'm sure with practice, i'll be doing this less and less
Good luck though on w/e you get with this.
eventually, i'm sure your going to want to upgrade the controller, just as I do now. When you do, look for the Yamaha DTXplorer drum sets. When you go that route, you'll be spending upwards of $500.

DM is kind of hard to get an At home model. I would try and go for a guitar freaks asc or a DJ dao Beatmania controller.

It's a small, square box with a switch in it.
The snare pad on my Topway broke after about a week's use. I threw it away. That was a waste of 40 bucks. Sigh.

1)If you have Rock Band, then goto radio shack and by a plug convertor so that you can plug your rock band pedel into this controller
2)If you don't have Rock band, then goto best buy. they have this $20 kit for Rock band that includes a different bass pedel and some pad silencers. get that then follow #1
Since this is also your first experience with the game, do not base everything on this controller as it's a thrid-party controller. If it's made the same as the KOC's then it's probably not easy to fix as each pad has 2 piezzo elements that detect the vibrations.
Start saving some moeny now with the plans of buying a konami KOC or even the DTXplorer, you'll be much happier in the end
Also just don't got crazy and hit the pads as hard as you can. Hit them firm enough to register but don't bash them, that'll help make them last longer

You should have asked Jumbo to get you a KOC.
