It's in 10th mix, but only if the machine is connected to e-amusement.

FSW is available on V onwards without e-amusement though.

Echoing what drummer_a13 said, and to add on, it's been there since 9th mix, but as an e-amuse exclusive, ie. only when the machine detects a valid e-amuse internet connection will the song be "unlocked" for play. Note that it's different from being an ee'mall song.

What was the idea behind e-amuse? It's not like the players can give konami any extra money to enable it or anything, and it's not like a password unlock system for the arcade owner or anything..I've just never understood the point of tying it into song availability =<

Konami charges a subscription fee to the arcade owners, and for how much they charge for those cards, I'm sure they make money on each one too, if not break even.

It's about SGD$200-300 I heard per month for their e-amuse services, so I don't see how Konami's not getting "extra money"

Ah, I didn't know there was a subscription...that's pretty lame, but at least they introduce the songs normally in the following mixes...kinda pisses me off to know even if I DO get to play V3 machine somewhere in america it wont have Mirage Residence.......dammit that CS needs to hurry up and come out

Maybe it's not that much, maybe I overquoted the fees, could be like SGD$100-200 instead...I don't know...

But either way, if they didn't charge a fee...I don't see how they will have any incentives to provide "unlocks" for their "in-use" mixes...
In addition to those "unlocks", there's Battle Mode...the Gitadoking ranking events...automatic Internet ranking...and if you're good enough and lucky enough you could be selected for the Bemani Top Ranker event when it happens...etc.etc.

Anyway, without a fee, the whole world could be automatically e-amuse enabled; they'd just need an Internet connection (which is awfully cheap right now)...

The purpose of e-amuse is providing a competitive environment for players and keep the popularity of the games.

Before 8th/7th, some players quit the games because they felt bored.They cannot find a goal after they passed all the songs.(I was one of those = =)

Since Konami realized that, they made a power up ver. for 8th/7th and introduced the e-amuse system at next version.

P.S.not only the subscription and cards, but Konami also charge per game you play...

I would really love to be able to actually use e-Amuse. The whole achievement things and battle modes look really interesting. Do you get assigned a Dan rank so that you battle people of similar ability to yourself?
