I was pretty happy with it until I went to play drummania.. I cannot for the life of me get the lag set up right, I've tried experimenting and I tried letting it judge it for me and I am still out of luck..
I'm not very good at drummania, but I mean I can pass alot of the songs except for the hardest ones on advance and some songs on extreme, but I can't do it at ALL now

Also, for getting the note position correct with Timing Adjust, I think it's better to try a setting and play the game for a while, then change if needed.

When I upgraded to HD, I realized that I was pretty much boned on any rhythm games, so I took my old TV, stuck it in my closet and hooked up my import PS2 to it for continued Bemani goodness. I figured it was worth having an entire TV set dedicated to GF/DM...

Total Tokens: 240.75 Donate Tokens | it got moved upstairs cause it was a 36 inch tv and there was no room in my basement, so i mean, i could haul my ps2 and electronic drums upstairs, it'd just be a giant pain in the ass, i'll try to figure this out for now
just a thought, it seems when i find the timing and stick it on there and it seems to work on the test song, and then go try it on a faster song the timing is totally off again haha

I have a 46'' 1080p Samsung and I can play everything from GF/DM to DDR with 0 lag, using the time adjust settings.

Total Tokens: 13,659.90 Donate Tokens | The phenomenon that you are experiencing is commonly referred to as scaling lag. While CRT direct view TVs are capable of displaying video streams according to the material source resolutions, current HDTVs in production are bound by their native resolution and therefore have to artificially scale and convert the video output (e.g. 640x480i -> 1280×720p or 1920×1080p). Although higher-end plasma panels can usually process video faster than their LCD or DLP counterparts, none of them matches the resulting speed of CRT monitors.
As such, even though you may be able to reduce the scaling lag effect to a certain degree by playing around with settings and by using products like this, Trip Machina is correct in identifying CRT as the best friend for rhythm game lovers (at least for now).

Or, switch it to a different signal by connecting the video wire to another port, maybe that will work. But yeah man that sucks that your tv is doing that.
Mine is a westinghouse 27" LCD HDTV, I have had no problems so far.
Good luck.
See yaz bye. | |
