Ion stuff is not that great, but none of the better options (DJ DAO or a DTX kit) are within your price range, and they wouldn't work with RB anyway.
Edit: I *think* you could use the Ion kit to play DrumMania CS official, as the word is they'll be selling an add-on module to turn it into a 'real drum kit', which would presumably include a MIDI module, which is what you'd need. But even if not, you could play DTXMania, which will work with any generic USB controller, as the basic mode of the RB2 kit must be.

MIDI is a well defined standard, so any proper MIDI controller can be used on the other side of the converter (it doesn't actually even have to be a drum kit, technically speaking).

Total Tokens: 2,499.76 Donate Tokens | My friend bought a generic converter, and it works just fine for him. He can't get it to work with 4th/3rd, but that's the only game that experiences problems. I'll talk to him to see if he remembers the brand.
EDIT: I dug it up at our message board from when he was posting about it. It's an " M-AUDIO USB/MIDI interface connector".

Those are your best bets.
P.S.
Oh and choosing crap items like Topway drum controller won't help either.
I tell you, it's not worth buying those items (just like the rave discman was)

And blackraven didn't mention the trouble you have to go to to use a standard kit with RB at all, which to my mind rather suggests he wasn't thinking about it in the first place. So I pretty much stand by what I said.
