Default Trouble with DTXmania

I've already done some extensive research on the forum and outside and could find no solutions to this.

You know how hi-hat (open and closed) are in the same lane? Or how crash and ride cymbals are in the same lane? Is there a way to set or configure DTXmania so that instead of having two separate pads for ride/crash or hi-hat open/closed, you can just set one for both? So in other words if I hit the pad for the hi-hat, it won't matter whether or not it's closed or open.

I'm using my rockband drum sets by the way, I could technically set everything on them, but that makes things really confusing and inconvenient.

Sorry if I sound stupid, I just downloaded DTXmania and I'm still getting used to the interface and everything.

Under configuration--->System:
HHGroup: HH3
CYGroup: CY1

You could also set the FTGroup to 1 if you want the low tom to activate the floor tom as well.

DTXmania should pick up joystick inputs as the rock bad drums set should show up as a game controller (in Win7 at least I verified this). You dont really need to use joy2key

hello everyone,

I just got a Yamaha DTXExplorer with a Midisport Uno usb to midi adapter and have successfully been able to run and play songs on DTXmania067b. However when I play the songs I don't hear the "hit sounds" from any of the pads I hit. I have already tried enabling/disabling the "Hit Sound" option in the Configuration Menu but there was no change. Is there some file(s) I'm missing like the sound files for the pads? Because all I did was just download the DTXmania067b and put a Simfile in and played it without messing with the files too much. Any ideas on how to get the hit sounds working would be a great help and thanks in advance for your time.
