Default Using DrumXtreme with ps2 drummania

I bought my drumxtreme kit when there was only 1-4 on the ps2 so I thought it was a better idea to just play on the pc using dtxmania, but now there are the masterpieces and v-v3 I want to try playing on the ps2.
The problem is although it plugs into usb, it registers as a game controller instead of a midi controller, so does anyone have any idea what I need to use the drumxtreme as a midi kit?

You need a midi converter, a Yamaha Ux-16 or something like it that will be able to convert the signal to the appropriate format for ps2 play.

The UX-16 is the opposite of what he needs. The issue is that the set he has registers as a game controller, and as such probably can't be converted to a MIDI input. You'd have just as much luck using a PS2 controller as a MIDI input device on a PC. Sorry, but it probably just won't happen.

Well the drums plug into the usb box by plugs that look like mono headphone sockets.
Are these compatible with midi interfaces?

Can anyone reccomend a good cheap midi interface.

no thats just RCA audio and not MIDI

if your drum set has no MIDI out there is really no way for it to be used

Ok I thought they might be compatible with some hardware. This is what I thought would make it work with the ps2, when using it with a ux16 of course. But I was looking for a cheaper alternative.
