@stoyq: From E-spot(easiest place I could think of): Go north on 3 road until you get to cambie, turn right (you should be going past aberdeen). When you get to the corner of I believe Cambie and 4 road, there is a mall on your right, this is Pacific Plaza, and you have gone too far. Take the first right turn before this corner (I don't know the name of the street), and it's not the first mall on your left but the second one. The playstation game shop in there sells most bemani controllers. At a glance I remember specifically GuitarFreaks, Drummania, and Taiko no Tatsujin, as well as the IIDX controller. I can go with you sometime if you like.

oh wow, a Taiko controller... very, very tempting <3 back to original topic:

- GFDMV has the hardest songlist
- GFDMMS has the GAYEST roulette system (it'll make you break your controller)
- GFDMMS has some really fun classics, as well as e-mall songs
- GFDMV2 can be totally unlocked in a few hours of play, and features songs you probably won't like too much (IE: that fucking idiotic HK song and Atalante... Over There, too)

But don't take my word for it. Check out the music list here.

Thank you - this has helped me a lot...

I do have a question though...

My previous Bemani experience comes from DDR and Pop'n Music.

I know GFDM games are much more rock oriented - but do any of them have a music style that is just a bit similar to the games I normally play ?

Thanks from Soren

What? V2 gay song list? Over there...sucking? Over there is such an awesome song. It's crazy as hell with many different parts and sounds! As for GFDM V having the hardest song list, hmmmm.... You'd say it's more difficult than GFDMMS?

It's crazy how our opinions on the games differ so much. I love V, I love V2, and uh... perhaps after getting decent I will also love Mastepiece Silver.

Yes. MPS has (I think) only two songs that rank over 90 for GF, and not too many more for DM.

For everyone bashing the KOC DM controller...

Yeah it doesn't compare to the arcade, but stop fcuking suggesting to get a DTXpress or whatever. We all don't have or want to spend $300-900 for a damn drum set that we'd primarily use (or motivation to buy) for a video game, ESPECIALLY if you've never owned a DM game before.

And as for "can't play well or get better on them," I've passed 90+ songs on KOC's and able to take those skills to the arcade (no auto's, default settings), and I know I'm not the only one to do that.

What if you buy the thing, and you just end up not really liking the game? Then you have a couple hundred dollar paperweight, that even if you eBay, most likely won't get full price you paid for it.

In my experience with Topway VS Konami, Konami is way better. I think they may have revised and fixed the Topway to work better, but the two or three Topways I've played on blew.

The KOC works fine if you haven't played the game before or have little experience with it and want to learn the game but have no or very limited access to DM machines. Heck, even after we had a DM 3rd Mix machine for forever and a half, I started preferring to play on my KOC rather than on the machine.

Lol I never said that V2 had a gay song list, just that there were some songs that checkrox wouldn't like... namely, Atalante. And I would guess Over There, too, since he plays it SO FREAKIN' MUCH!

Yeah, the songs on GFDMMS are easier than the ones found in GFDMV. Some examples are:

- You can't do it if you try (hilarious song name) -- 22/43/73
- Heaven's Cocktail (great-sounding jazz song) -- 21/72/89
- Escape to the Sky -- 20/45/75
- ハンサム兄弟メードインジャパン (possibly the gayest song on the roster) -- 22/45/94 (that should be a 98 or 99)
- No More Crying -- 30/48/80
- going up -- 34/45/76
- Funky Sonic World (400bpm ftw) -- 28/53/85
- Model DD3 (hahaha) -- 67/79/92
- Under Control (hahahahaha) -- 71/85/96
- The Least 100sec -- 76/90/97
- Little Prayer -- 27/56/85
- 鬼姫 -- 59/75/97
- White Tornado -- 43/72/95
- Die Zauberflote -- 47/61/77

Those are all guitar ratings from V3, which IMO is much more accurate than previous versions (ハンサム兄弟 is NOT 89!!!)

V2 was kinda... meh. I mean I did like it, but I didn't end up liking it because of the song selection -- it's cos I liked GITAACHANKO XD

Sorry to ask this again - but since my previous Bemani experience comes from DDR and Pop'n Music - would you recommend V, V2, or Silver - if I want a game where the music style is just somewhat similar ?

Theres not really anything to recommend, none of the styles are really transferring over, although if you liked Asaki's Happiness expressed by Poetry from pop'n then you might like.. whichever mix has Agnus Dei in it.. i can't remember.

@Aeiryu: I don't hate Atalante. It's a good song. I just don't like playing songs I suck at. And I LUVVVVVVVV <3<3<3 OverThere. One of my favouritest songs ever... ^3^

under that logic, I suppose I can understand why you like Over There... ;3

but to me, don't play = hate! Even if you get a D, it's worth playing if you like the song!

*echo*

oh well :/

Yeah, when I heard somebody (anybody) didn't like Atalante, didn't matter who, I was like:

Agnus Dei is from GFDM MPS by the way.
