which would you recommend? V3 or Masterpiece Gold?

ok, I got some options here. I really want a new drummania game (for the DTX drum set I am going to get, and I only have V and V2). Now I played V3 at the arcade, however I did not get alot of the song list, or play many of them. Gold sounds cool, but I dont know...

Which would you recommend, V3 or Gold?

Also where can I find song lists for the games.

I would choose MPG by far. I love V3 and it's song list, but it can't compete with MPG's killer song list

I am probably going to go with Gold though, I would have grabbed the V3 konamistyle edition, but I also wanted to grab another game too.

MPG over V3 for sure. The killer song list is amazing.

Don't be fooled by the Battle system, you can't play against a friend on guitar with it, only computer, and the computers cheat anyway.

I would pick V3 just because it's my favourite mix... (for arcade that is..).. However I really like masterpiece gold as well. Both solid solid choices. Either way you won't be dissapointed.

I'd say go for Gold first, although I've noticed Gold tends to have some really hard stuff on it. Not sure how the balance is for V3 though, since I don't have it yet. :P

- great songs
- more songs (not sure about this... it SEEMS like it to me ;3
- backgrounds/themes
- fair unlocking system
- c'mon... it's GOLD

CONS
- songlist geared towards the "skilled" players

GFDMV3
PROS
- Battle mode
- a decent attempt at emulating emuse (for us poor emuse-less sods out there...)
- User title achievements (players can now try to 100% the game lol)
- old classic songs that didn't make it to the previous games
- Training Mode hidden notechart easter eggs

CONS
- Battle mode is unrealistic (wth, a 14xx SP player getting ~85% perfects? ya rite)
- bullshit easy unlock mode
- SP system very unrealistic (6x SP for a long song?)
- no backgrounds/themes
- ... older classic songs that didn't make it to previous games (Fly High sucks.)

... in the end, I'd still prefer V3 to MG, but that may very well be a personal preference. I'm a huge fan of the V3 song list, and the user titles/battle mode gave me a lot more to play for -- after playing GFDM for a while, "self-improvement" just doesn't seem as appealing anymore. 6 times out of 10 I'd get V3 first.

I think I am going to order V3 after I go to my arcade tomorrow (I wanted the special edition since they still had one in). I will get GOLD on Wednesday/Friday/Monday (I have no idea when I get my paycheck now...).
