Default Yamaha DD-55/C with GFDM:V

I was originally going to ask this over at gdamania but it seems they're currently down, and since most members there are also here I thought I would give it a try.

I've read that the Yamaha DD-55/C machine along with a UX16 should work with V and V2, but that you had to configure it or something. There was a FAQ over at gdamania but the link has been dead so I've been wondering how to work it out. I'm pretty sure the admin from there is also here or someone else is using a DD-55 to play around here.

On that note, I'm also wondering if ANY of the DD models with MIDI in/out would work with V/V2? I have an old DD-50 I used a few years back so I was just wondering.

Thanks ahead of time for the help. I also have a KOC Drummania pad for sale too if anyone's interested; brand new.

From what I've gathered, ANY MIDI drumest will work, but you need to have the Yamaha UX-16 adapter.

Yeah, I've heard that, but I also read that the DD-55 in particular needs to be set-up to work with V or something

Try it. You need a Yamaha UX16 anyways. They're only $40 so just buy and see.

And then tell us

I'm sure if he already have one he'd have tested this out already. Sounds more like he's found a good deal, and asking if it'll work

oh well... +postcount lol

Maybe he doesn't have the Yamaha UX16 and he wants to get a better drumset. Who knows. I want a drumset too while he's at it!

I currently own a Tama set and an two old DD-50 and DD-12 machines for practice. I don't have a UX-16, but I was asking about the compatibility before I go out and buy the cable.

I asked mainly about the DD-55/C because the post on gdamania only mention this DD model. It seems the original FAQ on how to set up the DD-55 w/Drummania was from here, so that original user HAS to be somewhere here
