Marketplace Rating: 0 | Yet ANOTHER KBM question... sorry Well as I said before, I already have a MIDI controller. I don't need a MIDI to USB as this keyboard connects directly through a USB jack. It's an M-Audio Oxygen v8.
Do you think this'll be compatible or do I have to use the exact keyboard with the game? I don't think I should have to much of a problem. Thanks.

Keyboardmania PC is very particular about the model of keyboard you use (even my Yamaha keyboard that is very similar to the EZ-whatever doesn't work out of the box) but there's a crack floating around that'll make the game more lenient when it comes to recognizing different models of keyboards.

I was talking bout the one for the PS2. Someone told me that you could use a USB one for the PS2 version and that it just used a MIDI controller made by konami... that's not true then.... That sucks.

The standard KBM controllers use USB but they're not actual MIDI keyboards.

The reason I think so is because I have the EZ-250 keyboard (yes, the KBM PC keyboard) which is USB and not even THAT works with KBM II on PS2. Pretty amazing if you ask me. The KBM keyboard doesnt work with KBM o_o.
Anyway, I'm just guessing her but I think that KBM II only has drivers for the UX-16 midi-usb cable (+ a few other similar cables) and thats it. So if your keyboard doesnt support midi-out you're out of luck.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Aw shoot. Now I'll have to ... Well it has a MIDI thru port which is both in and out... I wonder can I find a connection like that. I have A MIDI to USB cable.... Man, This sucks. I don't see why it can't take it like DaDaDa can take any USB keyboard. Not even my computer needs a driver to run the keyboard.
Oh yeah. Piano Hero is better than DoReMiMania. for a couplle of reasons.
Well, I'll guess I'll find out soon because I already ordered KBM II. I will get the cable that runs it. I'll have to pull out my other keyboard though it seems. Darn. I really REALLY hope this works.

Hey, is it possible to make IRX files out of other drivers and rebuild the game with more drivers on it so that my keyboard will work?
I'm planning on buying the UX16 soon.
Can the KBM for PC use any MIDI controller or only the EZ one? If it can use anyone, do you know where I can find it? Thanks.

KBM PC only works with EZ-250 and DGX-505 (for whatever reason) as far as I know. But then there's a hack that makes it work with any midi keyboard. The problem is obtaining the game itself. It can only be bought bundled with EZ-250. At least that's the only legal way. But I'm sure that by now there are ways to download it.

I know for a fact that at least the 1st KBM release will work with any USB computer keyboard, because that's how I played it before I got the real controller. I wouldn't be surprised if KBM II does as well. Be warned that US keyboard don't have anything that corresponds to the furthest right black key, though. If you're playing Light mode in KBM II, which only uses the left half, this won't matter. Get a cheap keyboard, rip off the unused key caps, and you won't be too bad off.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | What do you mean correspond to the furthest right black key? My keyboard has two octives and another one has like... eight or six. Also, I have KBM II now and I tried using an M-Audio MIDI man Ux1 MIDI to USB cable and it didn't work at all. Can you switch keyboards mid game or do you have to reset everytime you do something like that?
I have a USB keyboard, but that doesn't work either. If nothing works, I'll just get that UX16 cable. I know that will work.
I also heard that KBM 1 ONLY works with the controller.

He means a musical keyboard, and I think you mean an alphabetic keyboard.
Anyway, I think the problem, dreamcube, is that the keyboard controller that comes with Keyboardmania is not a MIDI controller at all, but a specialized game controller.

But I'll grab a UX16 when I get the chance. I'm pretty busy so I might not get it too soon. It's cool though. (My friend's borrowing my Swap Magic. Why did I ever let him do that? Oh well. He knows what happens when he breaks it.)
