I don't have it all figured out yet but basically you could pay to make your simfile a sponsored one which would allow for greater exposure for your simfile. This would place your simfile on a list that would be visible on the front of the sims page and in other places. The #1 sim would probably be listed on the left side bar on the website.
Like I said, I still haven't figured it all out like if it would be kind of like an auction system that would place you at the top if you or if you just need to send a certain amount of money to get sponsored. Right now I'm leaning towards the auctioning system since then it would be easier to figure out who goes 1st, 2nd, 3rd.. etc.. based on how much they pay.
So if this system were put into effect would you think it would get used or not? Any other ideas about it? I want to do this to help out Bemanistyle and to help out new sim authors. It's very hard for a person to get your sim download, rated or commented on since their are so many. If a person paid money to get their sim exposed, obviously they would think it's good enough to spend money on so more people would download it.

It reminds me of the system that YTMND uses (yes i know YTMND.. but anyways) and it does pretty much the same thing, and it seemed to work well for that site.

The sponsorship will also help get lesser-known simfile makers attention (if they are willing to invest the money to get on the board). Some people might say that this gives an advantage to the rich people out there, but if you are willing to spend a many hours of your time working on simfiles (when you could be doing other work, possibly paid labor), you probably wouldn't mind paying a small amount of money to have your simfiles get more attention.
P.S. Sorry, but I probably will not sponsor my simfiles.

(points to his signature, which shamelessly advertises his challenging R&P steps and his unique Banya Marathon Alpha mix [and shamelessly advertises themselves again in this post]) It's probably a good idea to make signature "plugs" illegal in this case, but it's all your decision. Perhaps you could sell signature bandwidth for donations?

Second of all, the Sponsored Simfile thing is a secondary method for advertising your simfiles. We're not going to stop everyone from advertising in their signature, people should be allowed to advertise with whatever methods they can, excluding making a thread or post about it.
If you want to pay for this type of advertisement, be our guest, if you don't, that's your prerogative as well.
