I thought that 20 was a good amount considering if you're only a slow connection, you'd be pissed if you got only 10 tokens after loading up a file for 20 minutes.

I agree with that.

I my simfiles are 1.5 MB, but it still takes 10 minutes.

Usually a 1 MB file takes 4 minutes to download but....

Bemanistyle really isn't meant for people to use with a slow connection. You will have problems downloading simfiles and media if you download too slow.

What about one simfile a day once everything gets settled? OCRemix has a very strict timeline for submissions, one a month I think.

Well, in my opinion, just getting tokens for submitting one simfile isn't really that great. :/

Maybe you get 20/40 tokens after submitting your 3rd/5th simfile in a day, and then put a limit at the 9th/15th simfile to get the server to cool off?

They can submit 9/15 simfiles a day and get a maximum of 60/120 tokens. I don't think that's too bad because you could get that much simply by posting a lot on the forums that day. Then if you really had tons more simfiles, you'd have to wait another day or so before uploading them. It puts an upload limit but it at least gives a reward depending on how much is contributed, therefore at least giving incentive to contribute.

That's all I have to suggest.

I think that it should be not for UPLOADING simfile but it should give you tokens if ppl DOWNLOADS the simfile. So let's say ... 0.2 token for 1 download? My most downloaded sim on 6.0 was at 1000 downloads so for that I would got 200 token, but there was sim with only 20 downloads (4 tokens) ... so it was bad and it shouldnt get the same amount as good one.

I can see two problems with that. First, if there is no logging system (see who downloaded what), then someone could make a dupe account, and machine-gun refresh the download page therefore earning themselves millions of tokens.

And if there is a logging system in place, the protection that it would offer against token exploits would not be worth it due to how large the database would get.

So, I really don't see the idea of an earn-tokens-per-download kind of system. Sorry. Just stick with your 20 tokens per simfile uploaded. It really is generous enough. Hell, 5 simfiles, and you've already got 2 standard items from the media shop.

Or another possible way would be to give out tokens over time for simply having a uploaded stepfile staying on the server over time. For example, each stepfile you uploaded will gives you 10~20 tokens at the end of each week as long as it's uploaded at least 7 days ago.

or maybe a decreasing rate of token for every simfiles submit in one day?

Like:
1st sim - 40tokens or 20
2nd sim - 20 tokens or 15
3rd sim - 10 tokens
all the rest is like 5 tokens...

+ # token submitting a .sm or dwi for the parser?

That would require too much moderation in order to work. People could just make bullshit simfiles, and upload tons of them with names that no one would ever think to download, so it doesn't get looked over. That would require each simfile to be moderated and approved before allowing the token earning to begin, and quite honestly, we do not have the resources to do that.

The simfile that I just submitted was an edit, and nothing more. I doubt I deserve 20 tokens for such a thing for when the tokens start coming for uploading files.

If I don't get anything, I don't get anything.

I think it should be changed to:

Your Simfile has been submitted. Thank You. Click here to return.

(just for now)
