How do I play media files from the shop?

Do I need a special codec? I've tried the following:
Media Player Classic
Windows Media Player
Quicktime
Real Player
The sound plays like normal, but I get a black rectangle instead of whatever's playing.

Try VLC Media Player.

Winamp will play all of it. Use it as a default media player anyways, it's that good.

Aren't some of the videos and stuff encoded in MP2?

I honestly think it's a horrible codec for COMPUTER (not DVD) use because there is some much decoding needed, and plus you need like VDUBmod or VLC to watch it most of the time if you don't have DVD reader software on your computer.

I shall protest!
